ANNOUNCEMENT.

~872-73.

The next Regular Course of Instruction will begin on Tuesday, the ls+

of October, 1872, and end on the last Thursday of February, 1873.

The Anatomical Room will be open on the 23d of September. Mate- rial is abundant and cheap. The Cadaver will be embalmed by a new pro- cess, so that the most squeamish may dissect without the least reluctance.

The large class assembled the past session, and the number of applicants, who are daily making inquiry, give every assurance that our Institution is rapidly acquiring the reputation and patronage it formerly won-standing second to none in the count1;y. The Faculty is encouraged, and determined that everything needful for completing a thorough course of Medical In- struction shall be placed at the disposal of the student. Many useful prep- arations and valuable specimens illustrating Pathology, Anatomy and Sur- gery have been added to the splendid Museum.

Students attending this College, listen to lectures upon the seven branches, which include all medicine, viz: Practice of Medicine, Obstet- rics, Chemistry, Surgery, Physiology, Materia Medica, and Anatomy. To impress the student with the important facts of every lecture, the profes- sors will give daily examinations at the beginning of their lecture hour.

Prof. JOHN H. CALLENDER, Superintendent of the Tennessee Hospital for the Insane, will deliver a course of lectures upon Psychological Medi- cine, during the regular term, free of charge:

Clinical Instruction.

Every moment unoccupied by other duties will be given to Clinical In- struction, both Medical and Surgical in the College Building, at the St.

Vincent and State Prison Hospitals. Not only the Hospital, but the en- tire South furJJ.ishes patients for the Surgical Clinique, which is pronounced by visitors the most varied and instructive to be seen anywhere.

Prizes.

The most proficient classes ever assembled in the College were stimulated to reach such distinction by a healthful competiton in seeking the Prizes offered during the term.
