The main character of this movie is a strong woman who wants to fight against a criminal who wants to destroy and take over the government. These are the reasons why the female protagonist in the Divergent movie is interested in being observed. The analysis focuses only on the defense mechanism of the female character, Tris, to cope with the anxiety in her life.

Background of Study
One of the most interesting films in 2014 was the film Divergent (2014), because this film was adapted from Veronica Roth's bestselling novel, being nominated for the Blimp Award with the same title. This film tells about a girl named Beatrice Prior (16) who was born into an Abnegation family. The factions consist of five factions namely Sincerity (law enforcer), Erudite (scientists), Amity (farmer), Dauntless (protector, soldier and police) and Abnegation (public servant).
The instructor warned Beatrice to keep the test results from everyone or she would injure herself. Also, in the middle of faction decision day, Beatrice decided to join the Dauntless faction and wanted to be called Tris. She tried with all her courage to pass the ordeal in Dauntless, even though it might put her life in danger.
In the middle of her survival in fearless, her friend Al wanted to kill her, but he was unsuccessful. A notorious person named Jeanine wanted to get rid of the divergent and Abnegation and she saw it as a threat to harmonious life. Based on the explanation above, the researcher is interested in analyzing Divergent movie because this movie presents a new concept in the presence of five factions and this concept makes the audience imagine how the five factions exist in the real world.
This movie is the only movie that tells the story of maintaining the balance and harmony of life by dividing the people's social functions into 5 factions and making the faction above even the family. Therefore, it makes all people afraid of their own abilities to survive their life and become the determiner of their future. The researcher will therefore analyze Tris's character because she is the only girl who is diverse in her country and her life is threatened by society.
Besides being the main character in Divergent movie, she also has many fears as the strongest thing in her way to fight for her life.

Here, the principle of the defense mechanism includes suppression, reaction formation, displacement, fixation, regression, projection, introjection and sublimation (Feist, 2008: 35). Feist said that repression is the most basic defense mechanism because it is embedded in each of the others.
Reaction formation is a form of defense mechanism that has the opposite effect of a good reaction. As cited in Feist One of the ways in which a repressed impulse can become conscious is by assuming a disguise that is directly opposite to its original form. Fixation is the cessation of normal development at a certain stage, because the development of the sequel is very difficult, which causes frustration and anxiety is too strong.
Regression is a defense mechanism when a person returns to a lower level and less mature in adaptation. Introjection is a defense mechanism when a person enters the positive qualities of others into their own ego. Sublimation is a defense mechanism to prevent or relieve anxiety by changing id into human behavior that is acceptable and valued by society. Placement of the camera can be analyzed in terms of the distance between camera and object, using the human body as a reference point.
The extreme long shot (ELS) presents a very wide field, the camera takes the object as one whole, so the main object looks very small and the backgrounds look very dominant. In the long shot (LS), the subject looks thorough from head to toe and the background is still visible. In the medium-distance shot (MLS), the object faces upwards from the knee and is usually used to emphasize the movements of the object.

Based on this explanation, this research uses qualitative method because it explores the psychology of Tris in the Divergent movie and makes interpretations about her.
It can be in the form of dialogues, descriptions, plots and events that appeared in the film. Supporting data for this research comes from literature reviews, books and websites that support the analysis of this research. Based on Mogalakwe, “a documentary method is a technique used to categorize, research, interpret and identify, limit physical resources, most commonly written documents, whether in the private or public domain.
Take a close look at the Divergent movie so that the researcher can identify the theme, characters and characterizations, setting, plot and information related to it. The researcher also read some related websites and books to add knowledge about the movie. Enumeration of data in the form of expression of Tris and her dialogue that are relevant and related to anxiety.
Classifying Tris's anxiety based on theoretical classification of neurotic anxiety, moral anxiety, and realistic anxiety then provides the context to explain the anxiety.

Conclusion
Therefore, there are three types of defense mechanisms used by Tris' character in the Divergent movie. This study showed that Tris's defense mechanism in the form of reaction formation occurred at four events; The first is by leaving and wanting to be alone as she blames herself for Al's death, then Tris chooses the Dauntless faction as her faction even though she knows that Dauntless is a threatening place for her as a deviant, thirdly by to continue the exercises even though she has already done so. has been kicked out of the faction, and the last is by continuing to join the military even though she knows they are being driven to kill the Abnegation faction where her family belongs. Then a defense mechanism in the form of sublimation kicks in as she tries to combat her confusion, worry, and sadness by practicing to pass the next test in whatever free time she has.
Whereas the defense mechanism Tris uses is to kill her friend to save her parent.
Suggestion
Therefore, anyone who is able to take wisdom on all his problems will be able to accept God's destiny in his life. In conclusion, a person must not be desperate and should thank his God because God will always give more blessing.
