Appendix C: FORMATIVE PROGRAM ASSESSMENT—Applied Anthropology MA Program

Prepare students to contribute to current public policy issues

Students undertake internships with public and private agencies and organizations

Preparation of site reports or program evaluation (determined by both academic advisor and internship supervisor)

Writing publishable article as partial fulfillment of the MA in Applied

Anthropology

Journal provides peer- review; graduate committee and external organization also review submission

consider adding additional components to courses on writing and research skills;

provide additional practicum experience

Students produce fundable applied research proposals

Students construct proposal under supervision of advisor and external mentor (if appropriate)
