This table describes the combination of search terms entered in PubMed advanced search builder to include studies in this review. The terms were entered in an additive way, using the word "and" to link each term to the previous one.
The first search term: "melanoma" was always used. Then, each subsequent column indicates the term that was use in addition to "melanoma". The last column indicates terms that were excluded with the word "not".
Two restrictions were applied: one for free full-text studies and one for English language.
The search strategy was built following several iterations in PubMed.
