INTRODUCTION

Indonesia is the world's largest exporter of wood charcoal products. BPS noted that Indonesia exported more than 70 thousand tons of wood charcoal in 2021.

Edamame Soybean production can reach 3.5 tons/ha compared to ordinary soybeans which are only 1.7 - 3.2 tons/ha

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through mosquito bites Aedes Sp. The total number of dengue cases in Indonesia is 130 thousand in 2022 Lime peel is known by the public as a waste that can repel mosquitoes, this is because it contains limonoids which can be inhaled directly by mosquitoes

PURPOSE

The purpose of this study was to process Edamame Soybean husk waste into bio-briquettes as an alternative solution to inhibit the decline in forest areas in Indonesia. Also, adding orange peel extract is an innovative means of preventing dengue cases caused by mosquito bites

RESEARCH METHOD

• This type of research is quantitative descriptive.

• The focus of the description is to determine the effectiveness of BRIOMAMEL as a solid fuel, and by adding orange peel extract as a mosquito repellant.

• The tests carried out were ash content, moisture content, durability tests, burn rate tests, and organoleptic tests.

MANUFACTURING BACA PPT Ash Rate Test

Calculating the ash content can be done by burning the briquettes until everything turns to ashes, which is can be calculated by formula:

Weight of Ash divided by sample weight times one hundred percent Density Test

The density test is carried out by calculating the volume of the briquettes and the mass of the briquettes when they are dry, which is can be calculated by formula:

Mass of sample when dry divided by sample volume Burn Rate Test

The burning rate test was carried out to determine the mass of the briquettes burned per unit of time

Organoleptic Test

Organoleptic tests were carried out to determine the odor before and after the burning of the bio- briquettes

(2)

Anti-Mosquito Effectiveness Test

The effectiveness test was carried out by burning the briquettes on the mosquito breeding media and then observing them

RESULT

Organoleptic Test,

Based from the test, we receive that briomamel has a pungent Lime smell before burning and produces a fresh Lime smell when burning, has a hard and dense texture, and Has a deep black color

Burn Rate Test

The results of the burn rate test showed that BRIOMAMEL with a mass of 1.1 grams was able to burn for 17.11 minutes so that a burn rate of.

1.07 x 10

−3

g ⁄ s

. (one point zero seven times ten power minus three gram per second)

Density Test

The density of briomamel is 0.71

g /cm

3 (zero point seven one grams per cubic centimeters). it proved that BRIOMAMEL meets SNI 01-6235-2000 standards, namely having a density of 0.6 – 0.7 Ash Rate Test

From the test results, it was found that the ash content was 19%. This shows that BRIOMAMEL does not meet SNI standards, due to limited equipment in the laboratory

Anti Mosquito Effectiveness Test

The results of the anti-mosquito effectiveness test showed that BRIOMAMEL was successful in repelling mosquitoes

DISCUSSION

Based on the test results on BRIOMAMEL, it was found that the shape of BRIOMAMEL was a solid cylindrical tube, made so that it was easy to insert into the furnace.

The smell of BRIOMAMEL before being burned is a strong Lime, while when it is burned, the smell of Lime is not too strong.

The results of the BRIOMAMEL burn test were found to be

1,07 x 10

−3

g ⁄ s

. (one point zero seven times ten power minus three gram per second)

The results of the BRIOMAMEL Density Test met SNI, which was 0.71

g/ cm

3 . (zero point seven one grams per cubic centimeters)

The results of the anti-mosquito effectiveness test found that BRIOMAMEL can repel mosquitoes, this is because Lime peel contains limonoids which when inhaled by mosquitoes, mosquito cells will be

damaged.

The results of the ash content test found that BRIOMAMEL did not meet the SNI, which was 19%.

EXCELLENCES PRODUCT

(3)

The excellences of briomamel is;

Briomamel can be an alternative solution to repel mosquitoes

Briomamel is also cheaper and more economical, because it is made from unused waste

because it is in the shape of an elongated solid cylinder, briomamel is more efficient because it is easier to put into the furnace

CONCLUSUION

From the discussion above, it can be proven that Edamame Soybean skin can be used as a basic material for making bio-briquettes as an alternative solution to slow down the decline in forest areas in Indonesia.

By adding Lime peel extract, BRIOMAMEL is proven to repel mosquitoes.

This research still needs to be continued because the ash content produced by BRIOMAMEL does not meet SNI 01-6235-2000
