THE SPECIAL GUEST

Mom said, ever since my sister came back from school, she always shut herself in the house and did not want to go out to play or even breathe in the fresh air. She’s only 8 years old; it is quite odd for a child like herself to not take advantage of her time to go out and play. It’s seeming like a waste to just let go of the opportunity. It’s difficult to allocate such time. Time will not turn back. We have to endure what is there. That’s how the journey of life works.

My sister came back from school. Her school uniform has been undone. She left her shoes in front of the door. Her stinky socks were left on the coffee table. She threw her bag on the couch’s cushion. Mom was busy with the cooking at the time and she was not bothered by my sister’s actions. My sister just went into her room and shut herself. Mom said that there was a guest that came from school. That guest was not invited to come home, but instead, he wanted to follow my sister all the way home.

My sister does not recognise the guest, she does not talk to him nor even greet him to say hello. What’s even weirder is that Mom knows this mysterious, uninvited guest. It seems like this guest is familiar with Mom even though he has never once come to our house. However, Mom stated that the guest had a slightly different attitude. This person does not ask for any food and drinks. He just wants to stay overnight at our house. He also said that he wanted to take shelter from the hot rain. Not only that, he wants to stay with my sister. To be friends and play with her. However, my sister does not want to be friends with him and does not want to play with him. In fact, she did not want to share a room with him. She felt uneasy.

Every time the guest nudged her, she felt a tingle of itch and was overall uncomfortable with it.
