On the auction landing page, you can view all auctions you've been invited to and auctions you've been a part of before. For more information on how to bid on a regular auction, see Bidding on a regular auction. So the basic concept of the auction is to not wait too long to bid, as another supplier may beat you to it.
For more information about how to bid on a Dutch auction, see Bidding on a Dutch auction. For more information about how to bid in a Japanese auction, see Bidding in a Japanese Auction. A sealed auction is a type of auction where you only place one bid during the auction event.
For more information on bidding in a sealed auction, see Bidding in a sealed auction. These methods are dependent on the details and type of auction you have to meet your requirements.

The card shows the name of the event, the status of the event, the auction number, the date and time the event was created, and the name of the event owner. When first accessing the Auction page, you will be directed to the Non-Disclosure Agreement and/or Confirmation tab, depending on the configuration set by the buyer. Initially, only this tab will be active and you will need to read and accept the NDA and/or confirmation to access the remaining tabs during the auction event.
When you follow the link in the email message or after you click to open the event from the SMART by GEP home page, the auction event page will appear. Based on the configuration chosen by the buyer, you may initially only see either the NDA with a confirmation or just the Confirmation tab. It is only after you accept the confirmation that you can access the rest of the auction event.
Select the I have read the terms and conditions in the agreement check box, and then click I agree. Once you accept the NDA, you will be taken directly to the Lots tab to participate in the auction. Once you accept the receipt, you will be taken directly to the Lots tab to participate in the auction.
The Basic Details tab displays basic information about the auction event such as auction type, name, description, category, etc. Based on the configuration chosen by the buyer, certain guidelines will be set for the auction event. As a supplier, during an auction event, you will enter the bid amount for each line item under the Price column.
The Attachments tab displays all attachments and supporting documents uploaded by you and the buyer. The attachments uploaded by the buyer appear under the By buyer section, and the attachments you uploaded appear under the By me section. To view any comments the buyer added to the attachment, click the icon for the attachment.

- Reserve Price
For each line item, under the Price column, enter a bid amount and click Place Bid. The new bid must meet the minimum increase or decrease requirement specified under the Increment or Decrease column. This is an additional feature only available for Regular auctions and is only available if the buyer has set it up for the auction event.
During a regular auction, when you are outbid, you can use the Rank Me feature first, which will automatically calculate and automatically submit a bid for you to make you the first bidder again listed. Depending on your configuration, the reserve price will be displayed to you and/or you will be notified if and when you meet the reserve price.

- Deletion of a Bid
- Pausing and Resuming of an Event
- Timer Extensions
The messages you send to the buyer are not visible to any of the other suppliers participating in the event. The following are the activities that may occur during the time the auction event is live. However, you can participate in the bidding process when the buyer re-adds you to the lot you were disqualified from.
The buyer has the option to delete a bid submitted during the event at his request. When an auction event is paused by the buyer, the timer freezes at the value the buyer decided to pause. The buyer has the option to extend the timer at the lot level or at the event level as per his requirement.
In the event of a timer extension at lot level, the timer extension notification will be displayed regardless of which lot you view during the auction. If the buyer decides to notify you in the event that you are not awarded the auction, you will receive an email notification as shown below:.
