A biomedical scientist researches new ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases using their knowledge of both biology and medicine. Biomedical scientists usually specialize in one of four areas: infection sciences, blood sciences, cell sciences, genetics and molecular pathology.

Responsibilities involve:
