This dissertation titled “The Role of Culture in Diplomacy: Bollywood as Indian Cultural Diplomacy into Indonesia, prepared and submitted by Meyditya Yuswandari in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the Bachelor of International Relations degree at the Faculty of International Relations, Communications and Law, is assessed and found to meet the requirements for a thesis suitable for examination. Bollywood as an Indian cultural diplomacy to Indonesia is, as far as I know and believe, an original piece of work that has not been submitted in whole or in part to any other university for the purpose of obtaining a degree. The Board of Examiners declares that the dissertation titled “The Role of Diplomacy in Culture: Bollywood as Indian Cultural Diplomacy into Indonesia, submitted by Meyditya Yuswandari majoring in International Relations from the Faculty of International Relations, Communication and Law, has been assessed and approved. passed the oral exam on 18 February.

This research used the qualitative research method which descriptively explains the Indian government's attempt to maximize Bollywood as Indian cultural diplomacy through cultural activities and cultural agreements with other countries. Using Bollywood as Indian cultural diplomacy will strengthen the bilateral relations between Indonesia and India. This research aims to analyze the role of Bollywood -it, as a tool of Indian cultural diplomacy, spreading India's culture to the Indonesian people and helping bilateral relations between the two countries.

Statement of problem

There were many important people who attended the seminar, such as travel agents in Indonesia, representatives of the airline industry, hotels, diplomatic community, the media and other stakeholders in the tourism industry.
