CATALYST LOADING:

Head of the Reactor is hemispherical type and the formula for the calculation of volume is given as under.

Volume of hemispherical head = 9.4m3

Then total weight at the bottom of section is calculated by considering catalyst bulk density at 460 kg/m3 So for the cylindrical area we have:

Considering this length as inches (610mm) as most

Considering the dimensions from the figure it can be seen that

Total length = 3880 mm + 770 – (Length till RA source till catalyst batch) Total length = 4040mm = 4.040m

Diameter = 3300 mm = 3.30m

So the total cylindrical volume =

Cylindrical Volume = 34.56m3

Total Volume including head = 43.96 = ~44 m3

So total catalyst that can be loaded inside the reactor will be = 44

m
