Introduction
OBJECTIVE: To analyze the differential expression of the insulin receptor (IR) gene during moderate continuous and severe continuous training in a rat model of T2DM. The aim of this study is to analyze the differential expression of the insulin receptor gene during moderate continuous and severe continuous training in T2DM rat models.
Material and Methods
Insulin receptor expression on the skeletal muscle membrane was determined by mRNA receptor gene expression. The stronger the intensity of the exercises was performed, the more the cell metabolism accelerates, which shows an effect that is significantly proportional between the intensity of training and gene expression and the amount of insulin receptor involved [16].
Results
In this study, the t-dependent test was used to determine the difference between HOMA-IR and blood glucose levels before and after the assigned exercise. But in the SCT group, the reduction in HOMA-IR after 8 weeks of exercise was statistically different compared with the control group and MCT.
Discussion
It has been shown that there is a lower level of gene expression in the moderate continuous exercise group compared to the heavy continuous exercise group after eight weeks of exercise (Figure 1). Cell metabolisms in the heavy continuous exercise group samples are higher compared to the moderate continuous ones due to their intensity.
However, the reduction in insulin resistance in samples from moderate continuous exercise groups was not significant enough compared to the control groups, although there was a substantial reduction in blood glucose levels compared to the pretest. Although a more drastic increase in receptor abundance was recorded after eight weeks of exercise in group samples with severe continuous exercise, more precise consideration should be applied to the rate of cortisol and blood glucose levels observed in T2DM patients.
