CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of the Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is a series of activities that include understanding the theory and concepts of science that are applied in work according to the profession of the field of study. Apprenticeship is carried out to increase students' discourse, knowledge, and skills. To be able to go directly into the world of work after college, every student must have experience. The theoretical knowledge obtained from the lecture bench is not necessarily the same as the practical work in the field. An apprenticeship is a place for students to interact directly with the industrial world and agencies to harmonize theory and practice. In general, the implementation of Apprenticeship is aimed at improving the abilities and skills of students in the field of technology and skills directly in various activities in industry and offices
Apprenticeship carried out at the Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Department of Bengkalis Regency is one of the places where Apprenticeship is carried out according to the field of study in International Business Administration. The Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics of Bengkalis Regency is one of the agencies that have a wide range of duties and responsibilities. Duties covering the fields of information, statistics, electronic data management, publication affairs, and media cooperation in public relations affairs. The Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Department of Bengkalis Regency also provides opportunities for students and Apprenticeship Students to improve their quality and insight. Apprenticeship at the Communication, Informatics and Statistics Department of Bengkalis Regency also provides tasks according to the profession of the field of study that students are engaged in and students who carry out Apprenticeship.
2 After carrying out apprenticeship specifically, students are expected to gain industrial experience which includes planning, processing, and implementation in a work unit. The attainment of the objectives of the practical work above ultimately refers to the formation of professionalism of students who have broad skills and knowledge in the field of International Business Administration. With this capability, graduates of the Applied Bachelor of International Business Administration at the Bengkalis State Polytechnic are expected to be able to apply their skills and knowledge. Bengkalis State Polytechnic also seeks to improve the ability of students by conducting training or training in companies, so that they can realize the mission of the Polytechnic to make staff ready to use and have a link and match between the industrial world and the world of education that is carried out well.
1.2 Purposes of the Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is one of the activities for Bengkalis State Polytechnic students in completing their studies. To achieve the expected results, it is necessary to know the objectives of Apprenticeship, which are as follows:
1. To find out the type of work carried out in the Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Department of Bengkalis Regency.
2. To find out place and time of Apprenticeship
3. To find out systems and procedures for Apprenticeship used in carrying out work at Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Department of Bengkalis Regency.
4. To find out the obstacles and solutions during the implementation of the Apprenticeship program at the Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Department of Bengkalis Regency.

The benefits expected from the implementation of the Apprenticeship are as follows:
1.3.1 Significance For the Student
Apprenticeship provides an opportunity for students to apply theoretical knowledge or concepts in the real world of work and gain practical experience and have the opportunity to be able to analyze problems related to science applied in work in accordance with their study program.
1.3.2 Significance For State Polytechnic of Bengkalis
Apprenticeship helps State Polytechnic of Bengkalis to prepare and make skilled students who are ready to work in the field after they finish their studies.
The apprenticeship students help the State Polytechnic of Bengkalis, State Polytechnic of Bengkalis to get links and adjust media to increase the relevance of the curriculum to the field of work.
1.3.3 Significance For the Company
Apprenticeship provide employers with the opportunity to assist and enhance students' skills and knowledge. In addition, it is easy for companies to find and hire experienced employees because apprenticeship make students have experience working in companies.
