Rates for on-campus housing wen t up 5 percent th is year, bringing fees for a single room in the B all dorm to $663.00 per sem ester, with the cost o f a double room set a t $562.50. (Studanta who want to cut costa even fa rth er m ight consider occupying a triple room, which is

$404.50.)

But this doesn’t mean students applying now won’t g e t in, he said.

H e explained that it is a common uni- versity policy a t l.U .-Bloom ington and Indianapolis to ’o w rb o o k ’ dorm rooms, due to the fact that some people w ill in ­ evitab ly cancel at th * last m inute.

campus apartm ents, said Paul.

"A ga in , i f we go by application* an file, we h a w enough applications to have all apartm ents fa ll. People change their mind, and (w e ’r e ) still actively taking ap­

plications.

“W e ’ve had years w h e w 60 people h a w changed th eir m inds and not l i w d with us in the dorm. Those list* quickly m o w forw ard," he said.

A voluntary meal program is lik ely to be part o f th * dorm services next school year, Paul said. " I t appears that w e’re going to be able to offer some sort o f voluntary m eal program through the food contractor, w hoever that may be." I f the program comes through, cost for three m eals a day could be as little as $3 to $4 a day, he said.
