INDICATORS
QUALITY OF LIFE (QL)
QL lebih jelas dan objektif jika di tingkat individu (individual level) digaji tinggi,
kesehatan prima, menikmati hidup nyaman, bahagia kepuasan-memanfaatkan waktu
luang, menikmati suasana kerja, didukung oleh komunitas yang aman, peduli dan
kondusif.
Collective level lebih subjektif : bagaimana mengukur QL hidup yang berbeda ? Perasaan bahagia, nyaman, kepuasan hidup akan
berbeda satu dengan yang lain.
QUALITY OF LIFE (QL)
Collective level lebih intense- : the blue-print of society with maximises it’ s member quality of life- the vision of “ perfect society” sejak zaman yunani sudah menjadi fokus perdebatan sosiolog, philosof dan politikus.
Perdebatan : total equality- equality condition;
equal access to liberty (tidak ada yang
menolak); support equality of opportunity bertujuan agar kehidupan semua orang
terpenuhi;
Tidak sependapat tentang ketimpangan dari segi subtansi adalah sesuatu yang “ buruk”
Bagi egalitarian positive freedom adalah
penting
Community QL
Terkait dengan kemiskinan dan ekslusi sosial ; unit analisis individual-kelompok dan komunitas.
QL ditingkat kolektif komunitas dan masyarakat, bisa objektif dan subyektif terkait hidup layak atau well-being (Szereter and Woolcock, 2004). Deskripsi modal sosial dan kohesi sosial dikaitkan dengan proses pendekatan
eksklusi sosial.
Modal sosial kemampuan mengakses sumberdaya dan kohesi sosial melihat bagaimana lembaga dan norma
dapat mempertahankan kebersamaan di msayarakat atau komunitas
Hubungan langsung antara eksklusi sosial sebgai outcome dan sebagai proses- modal sosial dan kohesi sosial
Jadi QL individual “ deeply emmbeded” di dalam QL lembaga di tingkat societal.

Sebagai perekat sosial (social glue)
Keanggotaan individual di dalam jaringan jaringan kolektif dan asosiasi (bagaimana mekanisme kerja modal sosial di komunitas) stick together
Jika jaringan semakin luas, lebih mampu akses ke
“ trust” dan “ reciprocity”
Meskipun tidak semua modal sosial memiliki
implikasi yang positif bisa saja negatif –” reducing social capital”
The world Bank (1998) : “ social capital is the glue that holds societies together and without which there can be no economic growth or human well-being” the size and density social networks and institutions, and nature of interpersonal interactions
Outcomes : Inklusi sosial
SOCIAL COHESION
Juga dapat dilihat sebagai perekat sosial (societal glue)
Breton et all (1980), perubahan dari social cohesion to societal to keep clear distinction between societal cohesiveness and cohesion among others group in society.
Collective consciense as epitomising of social cohesion (Durkheim)
Links social cohesion into both individual QL
(Veenhovens, 1996) : “ social cohesion can be
conceived as a social quality which is experienced by individuals in their lives…This perspective consider elements of the social cohesions of a society to form an integral part of the quality of life the individuals belongings to that society” (Berger-Schmitt, 2000)
