Comparisonal Analysis of the Cost of Use of Polymer Materials and Plywood Materials for Concrete form (Case Study: Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road Development Project On/Off Jatiwaringin West

Abstract

Formwork is a reference for concrete molds or temporary structural elements in the world of construction, the selection of the use of formwork methods plays an important role in achieving the success of a structural work, especially in terms of work costs. This study aims to determine the price comparison between the use of wood formwork and polymer formwork. The writing of this final project uses descriptive analysis method, wher e the data obtained from various sources are then analyzed and used for the research process in comparing costs. The structures reviewed in the final project are pilecap, column, and pierhead. After the cost calculation process for each formwork is carried out, the cost for polymer formwork formwork is Rp. 186,775,400, while conventional formwork is Rp. 221,321,520. Based on the results of these calculations, it is concluded that polymer formwork is 19.30% cheaper than conventional formwork.

1. Introduction

The development of formwork construction technology is currently increasingly rapid so that it provides options for construction actors regarding the use of formwork methods, formwork is a reference for concrete molds or temporary structural elements in the construction world, the selection of the use of formwork methods plays an important role in achieving the success of a structural work, especially in terms of cost. profession. The conventional method of formwork is a formwork that is installed and dismantled by removing the formwork components one by one, while the semi-system method is a combination of system formwork and conventional formwork.

However, the construction of a construction really requires large amounts of wood material. Where wood is a material that has long been used as a formwork material for reinforced concrete structural work. Most of the wood used so far has played a role in destroying the forest. Forests are getting less and less rapidly and wood is getting scarcer. Along with the development of construction technology, one of the steps to save the use of wood is to use a modern formwork system such as Peri System. Besides being able to reduce the use of woo d, a formwork system with polymer materials can also reduce the cost of construction formwork because its use can be done many times.

Therefore, the authors aim to compare conventional formwork with modern formwork systems in terms of cost.

1.1. Formulation of the problem

Based on the explanation above, the problems raised are:

1. What is the price difference between using wood formwork and polymer formwork?

2. How is the efficiency comparison between conventional formwork and polymer formwork 1.2. Research purposes

The objectives of this research are:

1. Knowing the price comparison between the use of wood formwork and polymer formwork.

2. Knowing the efficiency of the implementation of formwork between wood formwork and polymer formwork

91 1.3. Benefits of research

The benefits that can be obtained from this research are:

1. For researchers, they can find out how to make a unit price analysis in real cases and provide a detailed analysis of the price comparison between wood formwork and polymer formwork.

2. For contractors, it can be used as an illustration between the use of wood formwork and polymer formwork.

3. For campuses/academics, it can be used as a reference source for the use of wood formwork with polymer formwork

1.4. Restricting the problem

Considering the limited time available in the preparation of this final project, the authors analyze the limitations of the problem into several points:

1. Data collection was taken at the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road construction project, West Side Ramp On/Off Section Jatiwaringin

2. Price analysis uses worker productivity in the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu toll road construction project, the West Side Jatiwaringin Ramp On/Off Section.

3. Price analysis calculated on pile cap, column, pierhead formwork pekerjaan 4. This study only calculates the direct cost of formwork work

2. Theory Overview

The Budget Plan (RAB) is an estimate of material costs, wage costs, and other costs needed to construct a building (Daghu et al., 2019) The definition of cost estimation according to the National Estimating Society-USA is the art of estimating (the art of approximating) the possible amount of costs required for an activity based on the information available at that time. The cost budget is the price of the building that is calculated carefully, carefully, and meets the requirements (Boer, 2019). The budget for the same building will vary in each region.

Factors that affect the difference in development costs:

The choice of the implementation method of a construction project is very important because the right implementation method can provide maximum results, especially when viewed from a cost perspective (Risdiyanti

& Siswoyo, 2018)

3. Research methodology

The writing of this final project uses a descriptive analysis method, where the data obtained from various sources are then analyzed and used for the research process in comparing costs, between the fairy system formwork work and conventional formwork on the Bekasi Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road construction project, Section Ramp On. /Off Jatiwaringin West Side. Both in the form of interviews, thorough observations and literature review. In this study, an analysis of the implementation of formwork work on pilecap, column, pierhead, and slab was carried out using primary and secondary data.

3.1. Place and time of research

This final project research is located in the Bekasi Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road construction project, West Side Jatiwaringin Ramp On/Off Section. Analysis of research data uses data from March 2021 - July 2021. The steps in the research method to be carried out can be seen in the flow chart below:

4. Results and Analysis

The final objective of this study is to determine the cost of making concrete formwork structures by comparing the conventional use and the use of the PERI system.

5. Conclusion

From the results of data analysis and discussion described in the previous chapter, the following conclusions can be drawn:

1. Formwork work for 10 piers obtained a total cost of Rp. 202,175,400 for polymer formwork, while using conventional formwork is Rp. 245,373,520.

2. Based on the calculation of total cost efficiency, the difference between conventional formwork and polymer formwork is Rp. 43,198,120 or about 17.6% cheaper using polymer formwork.
