Comments from the Editors and Reviewers:

Reviewer #1: This is a relevant and timely study on the design of Sororitas, a computer-mediated social support platform for women in Indonesia who have experienced sexual harassment. Its findings can help inform related initiatives—or push for the development of similar platforms—in other parts of the world.

The Introduction provided clear and comprehensive information on the study's rationale, as it established sexual harassment as a global issue, and presented specific data on sexual harassment and other forms of sexual crimes in Indonesia. It also covers the effects on the physical and mental health of those who experience sexual crimes and how social support can help improve their well-being. It emphasized gaps in the literature that the study aims to fill—while several studies have been conducted on sexual harassment victims and computer-mediated social support (CMSS), few have focused on both.

After the Introduction, the subsequent headings are "Social Support," "Computer-Mediated Social Support," "Methods," "Findings and Discussion" (with subheadings "In- depth interview results," "Survey results," "CMSS platform design"), and "Conclusion." Two of the main headings—"Social Support" and "Computer-Mediated Social Support"—appear to be out of place. Aren't these supposed to be under "Literature review"? In addition, these two headings are vague; please clarify by adding more details on what type of "social support" and "computer-mediated social support" you are referring to.

https://mail.yahoo.com/b/search/keyword=KnHa28YIY6eC_RQqmRRmOPB0sgmepmqxPAPnlt8fLm1X7HnF4ySDTD1PGg--~A&accountIds=1/m… 2/2 Under "Methods," the author clearly discussed the rationale for choosing the interviewees—representatives of four organizations that work with those who have

experienced sexual harassment. On the other hand, there is a need to clarify the discussion on the "prospective consumers of the CMSS platform" who were invited to participate in the survey. Was the survey conducted online? How was non-purposive snowball sampling used? How did the author invite 278 Indonesian women, ages 18 and older, to participate in the survey? Under "Survey results," it was mentioned that the respondents came from 33 cities, but this was not mentioned under "Methods."

There is also a need to elaborate on how the "preliminary design of the CMSS" was developed under "Methods." In what form was it presented—an online prototype, or a document with a description of the CMSS design? What exactly did the respondents review, and how many respondents were contacted again for this review?

The author was able to address the three research questions: (1) What types of social support are most needed by women victims of sexual harassment?; (2) What are the most effective ways to communicate with women victims of sexual harassment?; and (3) What features are most necessary in a CMSS platform for women sexual harassment victims?

The discussion and analysis of the results of both the in-depth interviews and the survey were clear and comprehensive, but these sections require editing. The summary of findings, presented through a table, may be useful, but please check the format prescribed by Media Asia.

Under "CMSS platform design," results from both the survey and in-depth interviews were presented. Please update the heading to ensure parallelism with the two previous subheadings. It should pertain to the results of the survey and interviews related to the CMSS platform design.

It is not clear if Figures 3 and 4 show screenshots from the preliminary or final design of the CMSS platform. Please clarify this in the discussion. (It will be more helpful to provide the final design.)

The conclusion is clear and comprehensive, but it requires editing. It is good that the author emphasized both the benefits and the limitations of Sororitas.

The paper is easy to read and the discussion is generally well organized, but there are typos and errors in grammar (such as subject-verb agreement). There are also some long and wordy sentences. Here is an example: "Such hostile attitude is quite noticeable in Indonesia, where the Elimination of Sexual Violence bill, drafted by the National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan) and the Service Provider Forum (Forum Pengada Layanan) and was proposed on January 26, 2016, centering on preventing sexual violence, granting more rights for victims, and acknowledging marital rape."

If the citation style should be in APA format, the reference list citations and some in-text citations need to be updated based on the 7th edition. For example, for works with three or more authors, only indicate the first author's last name followed by "et al." in the in-text citations. The figure captions and table labels also need to be reviewed if APA style should be followed. Note that quotes that are 40 words or longer should be in a free-standing block, without quotation marks.

I believe the author will be able to address these concerns. Once the paper is published, I would be happy to receive a copy. It will be useful for those working on similar initiatives on addressing sexual harassment.

Reviewer #2: This is a well-conceived and implemented study with important theoretical and practical applications. The paper is clearly grounded in the historical, political, and social conditions of Indonesia, which is crucial for research intended to inform the development of a CMSS system for Indonesian victims. It cites previous work that is relevant and helps to delineate its primary constructs. The design and methods are appropriate for the research questions. It was critical to include data gleaned from women themselves and helpful to include the opinions and experiences of representatives of several nonprofits devoted to assisting with women in the aftermath of sexual harassment/assault.

Care was taken to ensure that the data collection was sensitive to the experiences and needs of the women included in the study; this is so important and the authors did a great job handling it. Results were clearly presented and implications discussed.

The presented Figures and Table were clear and appropriate. I especially appreciated the CMSS screen shots. In terms of the clarity of presentation, the paper is very good, though could use a final review to ensure conformity to standard English grammar and syntax. (My apologies if this remark is off-base; I am only familiar with standard American English and recognize that the journal may apply different international standards.)

I have only two substantive suggestions.

The first is that I thought the summarization of results from the organizational respondents could be treated with a little more nuance. The authors state that both the organizations and the individual women emphasized the importance of legal support being provided to victims. I thought the organizations emphasized this need much more than the individual women, who seemed less certain that pursuing legal remedies was even in their best interest (Table 1 shows this disconnection between the interviews and surveys, but the paper doesn't emphasize it to the same degree). I suspect that since providing legal remedies was core to the work of the organizations, they naturally emphasized the importance of legal information and support.

My second suggestion is that the paper include some of the specific feedback respondents provided on the preliminary design of the CMSS; I was really interested in what the users would think of the system they tested and disappointed that so little of this information wasn't included in the paper--or maybe that's the topic of a follow- up paper focusing on system design? I also wasn't quite certain if the people who gave comments on the preliminary design were the same people interviewed for the study. The term "prospective consumers" is used under the heading "CMSS platform design," while an earlier section of the paper seemed to suggest that the comments came from the same people who responded to the survey and interviews. A very minor editorial suggestion is to drop the descriptions of the 4 organizations included in the study that appear in the text following Figure 5; I think they are redundant and detract from the overall clarity for the reader.

Comments from the Assigned Editor:

Based on the reviews and on the authors response to changes on her paper, it is apparent that even with the minimal revisions needed, the author applied diligence in cleaning up the manuscript and applying the  needed changes. The paper already showed promise from the time it was reviewed, and the application of the minor changes enhanced and improved the paper. More so, the reviewers, who are experts in the field the author discussed,  already find the paper as worthy of publication. I checked the changes and were applied. Recommending for approval.

I'm really trying to submit my revised article by today. However, I've been swamped lately with other deadlines and university events. May I ask for a time extension until this Sunday? I hope this is alright. Thank you.

Comments from the Editor:

Thank you for your submission. The research topic is timely and you should be commended for undertaking this research that uses both qualitative and quantitative methods. Before this can be forwarded to at least two reviewers, the following issues need to be addressed:

1. Please revise the abstract so that it is a continuous paragraph without any numbered lists. The Abstract should also be rewritten to incorporate the significance of your study. Please add more information on major recommendations.

2. Please proofread and edit carefully the manuscript to correct errors in grammar, syntax and diction.

a. There are missing punctuation marks (which I've put in brackets) like "42[%] to 58% of these violations..." (p. 3).

b. Please also note missing prepositions (which I've also put in brackets) like "From 2013 to 2019 the number of victims of sexual harassment rose by 100% [for] both victims and perpetrators (Hendrian, 2019)."

c. This parenthetical citation has a misplaced open parenthesis which should be replaced by a comma: "(Ozbay, Johnson, Dimoulas, Morgan, Charney, & Southwick (2007)"

It is hoped that you would use the time to proofread and edit the entire manuscript to improve the quality of writing and research.

3. The Objectives section is too short and focuses more on the three research problems. You should just incorporate this into the previous section.

4. There is no clear study framework pertaining to media and sexual harassment. Your research would need one to ensure that the findings are critically analyzed.

5. Please consider putting the review of related literature before the study framework as the latter should be derived from the latter. This would make your research more systematic.

(5)

6. The review of related literature is too short. There should be more discussion to facilitate a critical analysis of past studies. The more comprehensive and exhaustive, the better. You should consider not just Indonesia-based studies but also internationally published ones to highlight the state of research on CMSS and sexual harassment.

7. In relation to your review of past studies, you should critically analyze them. Right now, your review is mainly descriptive and there is not much effort to highlight what they have in common and where their differences lie. By providing a critical analysis of past studies, you can identify certain research gaps and explain where your study comes in. This way, you can articulate how your own research contributes to the existing body of knowledge.

8. As regards your methods, the qualitative part of your research only has four interviewees. There should be a clear justification as to why you only have four (instead of 10 or more which is the usual number in many qualitative studies). Perhaps you can highlight the nature of the four organizations you selected, especially with regard to their standing, power and influence in Indonesia. For the benefit of the international audience, there should be more background information on these organizations as not all readers are familiar with them.

9. The quantitative part needs more information. For example, what is the basis for choosing 278 respondents? When did you conduct the survey? How did you select your respondents? What does this number represent (e.g., the entire women in Indonesia, a particular female community, or a particular sector composed of women)? If this is inferential statistics, that point should be clear so that only inferences, not definitive conclusions, can be drawn from the data. Other pertinent information like the time frame in conducting the survey and how you processed and analyzed the data should be clearly explained. Some technical information like confidence level and margin of error, as well as the type of survey (e.g., is it simple random or stratified sampling?) should also be presented.

10. In general, your explanation of the methods should provide more information, in a way that would allow other interested researchers to replicate your study.

11. If there are certain limitations to the methods that you used (e.g., selection of sample size, time constraints, difficulties in conducting research during a pandemic, problems faced in researching in Indonesia, sensitivity of the topic), these should be clearly explained in the Methodology section.

12. The findings are generally descriptive due to the lack of a study framework. Upon choosing the latter, it is expected that this section would be rewritten in a way that you can critically analyze the data.

13. You should clarify what you mean by survey respondents being based in more than 30 Indonesian cities and 3 cities outside Indonesia. The "3 cities" part is a bit confusing. For those not familiar with Indonesia, what does this mean?

14. The Conclusion section should directly answer your three research problems, as well as sum up the important points of your findings. Perhaps you can use this section to explain what the qualitative and quantitative parts of your study have in common, as well as explain certain differences or nuances.

15. Since this is a socially relevant study, you should provide recommendations for future research and policy reforms. This could help define future research on such an important topic.

16. Media Asia uses APA 7th edition citation style. Some items in your References section still use the old edition. Some of them also have incomplete entries like DOI.

17. Please provide translations of titles in Bahasa so that international audiences can understand them. You may put them in parentheses after the Bahasa titles.

18. Please correct glaring errors in references, like "484-to".

Thank you and we look forward to evaluating a revised version of your manuscript.
