First, I will declare that my joy is made complete by the grace of God that has been poured out upon me through the finished work of His Son on the cross of Calvary. Jeremy Pierre, whom God has used to bless and guide me throughout this project and in the classroom environment. Another individual who deserves thanks for completing the program is Deacon Majemite Onosode and his wife, Ester Onosode.

Others to acknowledge for their prayers and support are members of the extended family and in-laws. Finally, I praise the name of God for the foundation I received from my home church, Umuode Baptist Church. That foundation pointed me to God and helped me to know God's plan found only in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I also praise the name of the Lord for friends in the school and members of the African Christian Fellowship here in Louisville. I thank God for your warm fellowship and the love of God you shared.

INTRODUCTION

This was between August 2011 and May 2012, and the survey was conducted in the three senatorial zones of the state. Welch, Addictions: A Banquet in the Grave: Finding Hope in the Power of the Gospel (Phillipsburg, NJ: P&R, 2001), 91. The context of the ministry project will focus on Baptist Churches in Abia State in southeastern Nigeria.

Another context of this project arises out of the need to find biblical and theological solutions to alcohol abuse among young adults in Abia State. Another consideration that gives rise to the ministry context of the project is the education factor. Proper understanding of the problem inherent in the use of alcohol by young people will help churches to have healthy members who will always proclaim the Lordship of Christ.

Thirdly, general training of the young adults to a purposeful life is important for the context of the project. This training will further strengthen the discipleship goals of the churches that will be involved. Finally, growing in the knowledge of the Scriptures is important in the young adults who overcome the temptation to drink alcohol, which may lead to abuse.

The problem of alcohol abuse should not be left out of the activities of the local Baptist churches in Abia State. Commentary on the passage, the Bible Commentary notes that “the loss of knowledge in the mind and heart leads to an exchange of the truth for a lie. This project understands alcoholism as an act rooted in the desires of the flesh.

According to Michael Lawrence in Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church: A Guide for Ministry, . 13 Michael Lawrence, Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church: A Guide for Ministry (Wheaton, IL: Crossway. The other associated costs of the damage they observe are in infrastructure and medical care.

These groups can be a formidable background for raising awareness of the disorders of alcohol and the abuse associated with it. These three chapters then captured the needs addressed in the rationale, purpose and goals of the project.

Three pastors of local Baptist churches who belonged to the age group of young adults also participated in the training.

The second lesson, which focused on the biblical perspectives on alcohol and its abuse, stressed the truth that God’s design for creating man in His image

The second lesson, which focused on the biblical perspectives on alcohol and its abuse, emphasized the truth that God designed to create man in His image. The lessons asked for an understanding of the root cause of alcohol abuse such as The lesson also saw alcohol abuse as a form of idolatry supported by Michael Lawrence in his book, Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church: A Guide for Ministry.

The two sessions were used to address the third aim which focused on the measure of the participant's understanding of alcohol abuse from a biblical counseling principle. He affirmed that the Ministry of God's Grace to the community will help them achieve this, affirmed that the ministry of God's Grace to the community will help them achieve this goal of the image bearers. These fellowships create opportunities to engage in service to the church, family, and community around us.

It helps believers to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the community they live in through the light of the gospel. Therefore, it was noted in this lesson that one theological foundation that could be built to combat alcohol abuse among young adults is an understanding that God's design for work is for a person. 3 Michael Lawrence, Biblical Theology in the Life of the Church: A Guide to Ministry (Wheaton, IL: Crossway.

According to Kenneth Gentry, in The Christian and Alcoholic Beverages, an alcohol abuser interferes with this plan of God because his behavior causes a curse for man, distorts one's perception of God, and nullifies one's calling power. Other disturbances that an alcohol abuser may experience include weakness in the body and social alienation. The fifth session saw man as God's image bearers made to have self-control, as seen in Ephesians 5:18-19.

The lesson recognized that the essential answers to this come from Paul's instruction on how to put off the old self and put on the new self. This session helped address part of the project's third goal, which was to measure pre- and post-curricular understanding of alcohol abuse. The last session suggested some biblical counseling tips the class can use to help an alcohol abuser.

The last session proposed some biblical counseling tips that the class can use to help an alcohol abuser. The tips followed the suggestions of Jeremy

The responses of the 19 in the pre-test and post-test are considered using the mean and median variable test data methods. Providing instructions on the effects of alcohol is one of the ways to control its abuse. Assessing the responses by comparing the pre-test and post-test question 25 which states: "I believe the people of the church should expose the problem of alcohol," the response data showed the following: the pre-test response data of the participants had ' showed an average result of 5.47 and a median of 6.0 percent.

Another piece of data supporting this increase is the SCG chat which showed 66.7 percent in the post-test and the two respondents noted, "alcohol abuse has a lot of bad consequences and it's not something that believers or an unbeliever would get into." should participate." The other said: "It is a timely lesson, there is a need for constant teaching about these lessons." Also the vigorous discussions about the effects of alcohol and its abuse on health, social. The second strength of the project is the reactions of the participants during the first training, which focuses on the effects of alcohol and its abuse on young adults in church and society. The fifth strength of the project is seen in the theoretical, historical and practical issues associated with alcohol abuse.

The third weakness of the project is the design of the research project's instruments. One of the theological reflections outstanding in the project is the idea that states that alcohol abuse disrupts God's design of humans as his image bearers. Are you a leader in the church of which you are a member (Sunday school teacher, house fellowship, GA, Lydia, RA, worship ministries, etc.).

Do you think there is alcohol abuse among young people in the society you belong to? What are the side effects of alcohol and its abuse on young adults in the state and country. God's willing servants of grace” to the alcoholics around them, in the church and society.

Understanding alcohol abuse as a sin must be linked to the idea of original sin in the Bible. John MacArthur understands this when he referred to Jonah's prayer at the belly of the fish in Jonah 2:8: "He that watcheth false vanity forsakes his mercy." The word watch in Hebrew could mean "to surrender" or "to sanctify." and false vanities could be any thing that a man makes an idol or an object of trust (MacArthur, Counseling, p. 57) Perverting the holiness of God. In the list of bodily sins (Gal 5:20, etc.), drunkenness is one of those that can deprive a person of the kingdom of God.

The American Heritage Dictionary defines mind as “the human consciousness that originates in the brain and manifests itself. Booze in the Land of the Lost Cause: Southern White Evangelicals and the Prohibition Movement.
