The psalmist shared a similar thought regarding fear of the man of God: “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear. In fact, the author is emphatic here, stating that "the creator of the heavens, he is the God", with the personal pronoun referring to "who created the heavens" and serving as a predicate for the God (v. 18) . However, Isaiah puts minds at ease by recalling in the last stanza of his prophecy that God has declared him truthful: “I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right” (Isa 45:19).

Garland makes his case: "Hos ("as") makes a transition and hot introduces a quotation: 'As it is said.'" In the earliest days of the church, believers had to defend the faith against four main accusations. It is the Germans who are to be thanked for the term “worldview.” It comes into English as a translation of the German Weltanschauung, a term (at least in German) that has the benefit of being clearly distinguished from the English term “philosophy.” It.

Before this discussion, however, the class reviewed the LPCI's statement about the "Holy Spirit" in its Expanded Statement of Faith. The topic of discussion this evening was chapters 1-8 of Chris Bruno's "The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses" and the LPCI statement. The seventh session included discussion about the last chapters of Bruno's The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses (chapters 9-16) and a review of the LPCI.

In addition, the class read and reviewed the statement on "The Resurrection of the Dead" from LPCI's Extended Statement of Faith. The class also reviewed LPCI's statement on "The Church and Her Ordinances" from the Extended Statement of Faith.

Test Data Cleaning and Preparation

As the project progressed, I occasionally went back to some of the questions on the survey and asked if the participants' views changed in any significant way. There was one case where an assigned book (Bruno's The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses) was thought to be less helpful than an alternative book (Roberts' God's Big Picture) based on the rating of five or six of the participants in the project. However, participants generally felt that the reading was a positive part of the course and that the curriculum.

The purpose of this ministry project was not simply to increase the knowledge base of the participants, although that was a goal, but also to assist participants in applying that knowledge to the participants' personal faith and their ability to utilize Christ . Although there were times when the sessions felt more like a lecture due to the reserved nature of some of the participants, those times were rare. Even if participants learned nothing through the twenty-six class sessions of the project, they could not help but learn something (much more than something) from the reading.

The initial request brought to the elders at LPCI for permission to manage the project was met with swift approval, as I serve as the Head Pastor of the church and am (apparently) trusted in the area of teaching. A fifth and final strength of this project was the length of the course instruction (which, as it turns out, was also a weakness) as it related to evaluating the value of the project. I will address in the next section how the length of the project was also a weakness.

Although the duration of the project proved to be a strong point in terms of the evaluation process, the course associated with the project was approximately eight weeks too long for the participants. Because one of the goals of the project was to equip participants with information to engage more effectively with skeptics. However, by indicating that such an event will be part of the course of study, it is likely that some will refuse to enroll out of fear. related to involvement in such activities.

By learning ways to defend the Christian faith and diving deeply into the truths taught in the Word of God, believers can truly come to "the measure of the stature of the fullness". The primary purpose of the church is to worship God through His Son Jesus Christ.

Evaluation

These first few weeks can be seen as preparation for what is the most important part of the program - knowing what we believe. Our next topic will teach us some of the most common ways cults misunderstand the Bible. The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses by Chris Bruno Know What You Believe by Paul Little.

Explain how downloading the New Testament is unlike and is like a game of telephone. The question of canon may be one of the most complex questions Christians face when considering the reliability of the Bible. Some expect that in order to claim a canon there should be a complete list at the beginning of the Church's history.

As Kruger stated: “For the church to be able to recognize the canon books, it must first be. providentially exposed to these books. How does the early Christian rejection of these lost scriptures confirm both the attributes of canonicity and the inward witness of the Holy Spirit listed above. When were all the New Testament gospels written as opposed to the lost scriptures.

What is meant when we say that we believe in the mistake of the original autographs. Reading: The Whole Story of the Bible in 16 Verses, Chris Bruno (Chapters 1-8) Review: Justification (Being made right with God). But to set the stage for doctrine, we need to understand the basics of the Drama, the great story.

This study will give us a brief overview of the entire history of the Bible in a few selected verses. Define the New Testament Church and give some metaphors used for the Church in the New Testament.

Briefly explain how we can believe in the inerrancy of Scripture when we do not have the originals. In John 10:27, Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." How do the three criteria above meet Jesus' statement. In Expository Apologetics, Baucham exhorts "always find a way to get to the gospel." What caution must we bear in mind when arguing for theism or simply "a god".

How does Darwinian natural selection rule out any meaningful thoughts or ideas coming from our brains? Does the charge of "evil design" have any bearing on belief in a good, all-powerful God? What five lines of truth show Jesus' superiority over all other religious leaders?

Please have your spouse (if you are married) also read and sign this covenant so they can advocate for you to read it and enter with an understanding of the time commitments. From the first century (Col. 1:15-20) to today, Christians have created statements of faith and written them down to show what they believe and why. We believe that there is one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The three Persons of the Godhead are equal in every perfection and perform various offices in harmony as the great work of redeeming mankind is accomplished (Gen. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect human life, died a vicarious death, was buried and bodily raised from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will personally return in power and glory (Is. We believe that the Holy Spirit has always been at work in the world, sharing in the work of creation, signs and miracles and the preaching and writing of the apostles, and ushering in a new age of the Spirit by pouring out all the promises of God upon His Church.

It is by the power of the Spirit that repentant sinners become a new creature and are enabled to live godly lives. The saving work of the Holy Spirit works in connection with the presentation of the gospel message, so that the work of the Father in. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, eternal, infallible and infallible word of God; the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe that the great blessing of the gospel message is that all who repent and believe, placing their faith in Jesus Christ, will be justified, which includes the forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life. We believe that what the Bible calls "election" or "predestination" is God's eternal purpose whereby He changes, saves, and sanctifies (sanctifies) men and women who are sinners. We believe that all people will experience a resurrection: the believer in Christ to eternal life, the unbeliever to eternal judgment and separation from God.

We believe that the church is the body of Jesus Christ, for whom He will return, made up of all from every tongue, tribe, people and nation who have trusted Christ alone for their salvation. Its ordinances are twofold: Baptism, which is an outward expression of the inward reality of salvation in Jesus Christ, depicting the believer's spiritual death and resurrection to new life, and the Lord's Supper, in which members of the church, using bread and wine (or juice), should commemorate together the dead love of Christ, always preceded by self-examination (Matt.
