Therefore, this research will focus on developing a bilingual (English-Indonesian) vocabulary size test that aims to measure Indonesian EFL learners' proficiency. All the words in the sample were later used to develop the vocabulary size test.

In the second term address it is proved that the speaker made promises what he should do in his first term which was in the past. From the general condition, as in the first term, both the speaker and the hearer understand the language being used. The content condition is happy because the speaker's future event will be the speaker's future action.

The results show that in order to maintain people's trust, the president proposed more commission actions in his second term than in his first term. The results also revealed that there are four contagion acts of commission that the speaker made in the second term that affect the three acts of commission in his first term that become inappropriate. If in the future the speaker violates the commission actions he made in 2019, it means that the speaker's commission actions are harmless.

Consecutive Interpreting Strategies on A Court Setting

A Study of English into Indonesia Interpretation Heri Kuswoyo 1 , Ayu Yeza Audina 2

The incomplete sentence strategy is used when the interpreter omits large units of the text in the target language. In this strategy, an interpreter expands on their understanding of the message, when the interpreter has difficulty in making the meaning of the source language equivalent to the target language. It is used when the interpreter explains or adds more information as a way to make the utterance better understood in the target language.

The translator thus wants to preserve the main important message conveyed by the speaker in the source language. In other words, Yuliana Tansil, as the translator skipped the word in order and only transmitted the source language of the first report. The translator skipped the words, only interpreted briefly by reducing some expressions in the target language.

So to keep the point meaning of the message, the interpreter transferred in an incomplete sentence. This strategy arises because the interpreter had to keep the main point of the text, but still in the contextual meaning. Moreover, the interpreter maintained the goal of meaning in the source language without interrupting this meaning.

This happened because the interpreter found the meaning of a word or phrase in a location that was ke alamat still unacceptable for the context of the message in the source language. As for the reduction strategy, the interpreter preserves the main essence of the message in the target language. The interpreter therefore did not complete the sentence structure of the statement that the source language speaker uttered into the target language.

Thus, the translator condensed the meaning in the source language to be concise in the target language.

Proofing Tools in Microsoft Office Word 2019

The Application in Indonesian Language Arief Fiddienika

Tests on the developed instrument were tested on punctuation in Indonesian using the Boyer-Moore algorithm and it was concluded that the system could detect errors in the use of spaces between words and punctuation errors. To be able to conduct this study, the Indonesian language was first configured on the computer where Microsoft Office Word 2019 was being installed and used (Lambert, 2019; Lambert & Frye, 2015). In repeated form, this spell checker works without problems when the author does not insert a hyphen between words.

In the example, the proofreader doesn't give a red line because the author added hyphens between about words. The writing of the preposition in the Indonesian language is divided by the following words. The proofreading tool in Microsoft Office Word 2019 can also find the preposition in the Indonesian language.

In this example, this inspection tool can detect the prepositional error in the first sentence, namely the word 'didapur'. In addition, the system does not detect errors using the period that appears in the sentence. When using commas, the system cannot detect elements specified using commas (2a) and commas used to separate clauses that precede the parent clause (3a).

In the sentence b, c and d not a sentence with the correct order, but the proofreader does not detect these errors. The use of a minimum pair is intended to know the non-acceptance of words in the sentence being tested. By not accepting words in the sentence, the system is expected to detect errors in those sentences.

Therefore, the debugging tool works best only when errors occur at the word and reduplication levels.

Representation of people living with HIV/AIDS in The Jakarta Post and Jakarta Globe: A Critical Discourse Analysis. Both The Jakarta Post and Jakarta Globe published about 7 and 100 news items about people living with HIV/AIDS respectively. This study examined the representation of people living with HIV/AIDS published in the online newspaper The Jakarta Post and Jakarta Globe using the three-dimensional model of Fairclough (1995).

In the text, material process is mainly used by The Jakarta Post to describe people with HIV/AIDS as those who perform. The verbal process used in The Jakarta Post describes some verbal actions used by some organizations and activists to refer to people with HIV/AIDS. The process of relations in The Jakarta Post is used to describe the identity of people with HIV and their rights.

The date describes the circumstances of people with HIV/AIDS in the workplace where discrimination still exists. The examples above are sentences produced by The Jakarta Post to report people with HIV/AIDS. The Jakarta Post represents people with HIV/AIDS as discriminated community by the fact expressed by some other communities.

The above quotes were produced by the Jakarta Globe to describe how people with HIV/AIDS are mistreated. Moreover, the representation of people with HIV/AIDS as a mistreated group is also expressed through the verbal process. The verbal process in the Jakarta Globe is used to express the expression of people with HIV/AIDS in describing their experiences of abuse.

In the second phase, the study showed that people with HIV/AIDS are represented as a discriminated and threatened group.

Interpersonal Meaning in RAs: Some Traces of Modality Wawan Hendrawan 1 , Eva Tuckyta Sari Sujatna 2 ,

One of its identities is represented by auxiliary verbs (Adejare, 2014) or modal operators in the context of the current study. Again, the study focused on examining the modality or modal operators in the discussion section. Third, the researchers dug into the clauses written in the discussion sections and then selected those that contained modal operators.

In addition, all the aforementioned modal operators were examined from all the clauses analyzed in the discussion sections. As indicated by the results above, the frequency of the high modal operators is less compared to the middle and low modal operators. Likewise, the low modal operators are also identified less compared to the others who do not employ the high modal operators.

With regard to the median modal operators, the results suggested that their number is not as large as the low modal operators. In the context of the current study, it can be assumed that the median modal operators are implemented to carry the meaning of 'probability' (Halliday, 1994). The use of low-modal operators in the data suggested that the statements made have little certainty (Halliday, 1994).

The above excerpt is just one of the examples, taken from LCC, that manifests the low modal operators. Third, there was a significant correlation between the implementation of low and high modal operators in the data evaluated. If the low modal operators are deployed more in the manuscript, then the existence of high modal operators will be less or even non-existent.

By doing this, students will gain knowledge of modality and the lexicogrammatical elements analyzed in clauses containing modal operators.
