Leaders in the church must understand that their role and effectiveness in the church is affected by their awe and fear of the Lord. The scene changed in the middle of Jesus' preaching when the roof above was exposed. A study of the lists of spiritual gifts in the New Testament reveals how some gifts are more directed toward leadership.
The situation that faced Oldsmobile is typical of the challenge that faced the church. Many treasurers fill multiple roles within the church and the demand can be too much to handle. Shared ownership of the church's vision for the new ministry and new leaders is one of the key measures.
It is an intense time of leadership development and re-commitment to the church's mission that begins the actual church revitalization. The people's values in the church find security in their traditions and present. The church of choice is Verdunville Church of God in Verdunville, West Virginia, in the heart of Hatfield and McCoy territory.
Identification of Leadership
They evaluated the reports and sent back an evaluation based on their findings of the overall conference process and lessons learned.5. It was born out of the evaluation of the judging committee and comments from the participants. This phase was focused on the development of the curriculum for more intensive and comprehensive leadership training materials.
One of the objectives of this project was the participation of fifteen current leaders and ten potential leaders. Three potential leaders had to withdraw the day before the conference because two of them had been called to work and the third had a stillborn grandchild.
Development of Curriculum and Adjustment
Since that conference, some had begun to take steps to prepare for leadership with children, youth, music, teaching, visiting, and young adult couples. There are some who have felt specific instructions from God to take further steps in accepting calls to ministry. Due to the stated goals of the project, before I could move forward to phase 4 of the project, the average overall curriculum evaluation by the review board had to meet at least 90 percent of the evaluation criterion.
Upon receiving the surveys from the review board, the overall rating of the curriculum received a 3.2 out of a possible 4.0, exceeding the 90 percent adequate level.6 Therefore, I made adjustments, corrections, and additions as suggested by the board. It was at this point that I moved forward and developed strengths from the curriculum to be used for teaching the material at the upcoming conference.
Promotion of the Conference
Conduction of the Conference
The focus of the conference was to educate rural Appalachian church leadership with quality resources that would strengthen and train current and future leaders so that this new leadership could bring a new passion for service to the church. The conference day started with the pastor welcoming people at 8:30, followed by my presentation. He alerted everyone to snacks and distributed a survey before the conference that was used to measure changes in church leadership knowledge.
The purpose of the conference was to present a scriptural and practical approach to leadership development that helped the church rise higher in a revitalized ministry. The conference began by discussing the cultural issues that impacted leadership development, and was then followed by the structural issues of the church that required new leadership development for a culture that was.
Rural Appalachian Issues
This model provided key components of church growth guided by God-inspired leadership. I pointed out that principles and patterns that strongly grew, effective churches were found in Scripture. In addition, it could be determined from the Scriptures that churches that experienced revival and qualitative growth did so with the right leadership.
A third area focused on developing strong leadership that effectively challenged issues that had previously prevailed in churches that hindered growth. The final area concerned the scriptural patterns or patterns of leadership behavior that had the greatest impact on church membership and ministry.
Small Church Culture Issues
It was important to make the participants aware of how the transition from the old church culture to new modern lifestyles was influenced by new styles of music, worship and service. New homes, subdivisions, and technology spread throughout the region, connecting Appalachia to a new culture of living.
A Leadership Crisis That Demanded a New Leadership Role
Utilizing God-given Supernatural Abilities of
It is important to see that God has gifted Christians in such a way as to link them with other believers for more effective ministry. Paul emphasized in Ephesians 4:11-16 that God gave gifts to men and gave men to function in specific roles in the church. He saw himself in an apostolic function ordering and regulating the churches, in the role of a prophet and evangelist as he preached the gospel, directed missionary work and gave words in the name of God and as a pastor and teacher as he planted churches, fulfilled the obligation to took care of them and raised leaders to help these new churches.
In other words, he looked at how these spiritual gifts actually served as functional roles in which church leaders had to operate with specific purposes that brought about the building and growth of the church. Leadership is needed in churches that have the potential to effect change, not just individuals gifted with spiritual potential.
Reaching Across Personality Lines to Disciple New Leadership
God with natural talents, abilities, spiritual gifts and a personality corrupted by sin but redeemed by Jesus. The metaphor Paul gave in 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 about the body and the church provided insight into the different levels of ministry in the church. Based on this scriptural basis, I chose the DISC personality profile that recognized personalities best and was easiest to teach.
By understanding their individual personality type, leaders can be trained in how to lead the church more effectively. Leadership that discovers how the different personality types work together can help the church move.
Leadership Priorities – Agents of Change
Required Character for Most Effective Leadership Role
The same priorities that Timothy learned from Paul would be passed on from Timothy to his protégés. Jesus faced this fact as a leader whose long-term plan for the church required discipling new leaders to continue his mission. He guided his disciples to ensure that the same kind of leadership shown by himself would also be shown by his new leaders, his disciples.
The end result was an atmosphere of worship that included celebration, spiritual growth, and a number of people added to the church every day because they believed in Jesus. This was an example of the church in action, modeling the kind of church growth that every church can model itself after and be measured against to determine success in their ministry.
Evaluation
By the end of the conference, their knowledge had advanced and they were now thinking along similar lines regarding church leadership. Based on these statistics, the curriculum and conference successfully met the purpose of this conference. A conference evaluation survey was distributed to participants who provided feedback based on content, usability, and usability.
In addition, space was provided to offer any topic that needed attention or insight that would help improve the conference. A summary report was compiled and given to the expert panel of consultants for further review and critique.11 The panel used these surveys to assist them in completing the grading rubric.
Expansion
Revival of churches presents one of the most strategic challenges and needs in the local church. This project evaluation includes an examination of the project's purpose, goals, strengths, and weaknesses. For example, a response to one of the statements in the pre- and post-conference survey corroborated these claims.
The t-test indicated that a single group of the same individuals was studied under two conditions. A positive increase in mean scores on the post-conference survey indicated an increase in knowledge and understanding.
To Identify Present Leadership and Potential Leaders from a Rural
For example, if the statement said, "The material is theologically sound," board members responded with a four meaning that this section of the conference was exemplary, a three indicating it was sufficient, a two indicating it was required attention and one. If at least 90 percent of the evaluation criterion was met or exceeded the sufficient level, then the goal was achieved. The challenge of the first goal came from the pastor's organization and administrative skills.
My concern specifically focused on whether the pastor kept a record of their spiritual inventory list that participants filled out in the previous ministry conference.1 This concern led me to make sure to make copies of this inventory list at each conference for future reference. use. A second concern was the identification and contact of the individuals who should be at the conference.
Develop a Leadership Curriculum for Use in Rural
To achieve this goal, I created the curriculum based on chapters 2 and 3 of this project as the base material. By the end of writing it, I realized that I had created too much material for the intended purpose of a one-day training conference. The overall average board rating was 3.2, but I wanted to improve the curriculum based on the board's comments and ratings.2 All three members gave the curriculum a 2 in the statement.
Two key areas where the board showed me I needed to improve included practical steps for how pastors can train leaders and how leaders can put curriculum information into more practical use.3 Based on their. All three board members gave the material high marks for its relevance to leadership and a strong theological and scriptural foundation.
Equip Participants with Increased Knowledge of a Scriptural
The standard deviation at the beginning of the conference showed that the knowledge of the participants was also broad and scattered with different views on leadership. By the end of the conference, their knowledge had changed and they now thought similarly about church leadership. The curriculum was designed based on a step-by-step development process in the form of a one-day seminar.5 The curriculum began with an emphasis on cultural issues surrounding leadership development, specifically in the rural Appalachian context and small church culture.
In the next two sessions I looked at the keys to developing new and stronger leaders based on using their God-given spiritual gifts and their individuality. There were many testimonies of the positive impact the conference had had on their lives. These will emerge in the next section on the fourth goal.
Refine the Conference and Curriculum In Order to Make Them
The weaknesses of the project can be determined by the surveys, the interviews and my experience when I went through the curriculum. A fourth weakness was in the practicality of the curriculum for use by a pastor or other leader. Each of the aspects of this project is designed to work together and build on each other.
The first theological consideration is that leadership development is part of the process of discipling believers in the church. You recognize the primary problems and offer suggestions, but sometimes it feels like the old sermons we've all heard, "fly with eagles, not walk with turkeys..." The problem was that no one taught us how to fly.
