All the larger orders are represented, theHemiptera leadingin point ofnumbers with 23 species.

DlPTERA.

Of

theDiptera there are fifteen species, the family Syrphidse beingthe best represented, there beingfourspecies.

Mexico.

specimen. Described from California.

Syrphus

specimen. Occurs from

Nova

Scotia to

New

England,

westwardto Alaska and California; also in Europe.

Sphcerophoria sulphnripes

specimen. Described from California.

single specimen. Reported from Utah and

Mexico,

westward to Washington and California.

Exorista vulgaris Fallen.

example of each. Both species occur over nearly the whole of the United States, and the first also occurs in Europe.
