Vocabulary is the basic skill to build languages in English. It means that people needs vocabulary to communicate with the others people. Vocabulary is very important in the aspects of English both for reading, writing, listening, and speaking skill because without vocabulary students cannot convey ideas, opinion or anything else. In fact, the process of learning English which is less interesting may not support enough students in teaching vocabulary mastery. The use of Stand up Sequence Game which is believed can improve students’ vocabulary mastery. This research is aimed to find out whether the use of Stand up Sequence Game is effective as the media in teaching vocabulary mastery. The population of this research is 22 female students in Budi Utomo Orphanage. This study is used quantitative research. The research used quasi-experimental design. The researcher conducted the systematic of purposive sampling and used pre-test and post-test as a research instrument. To analyze the pre-test and post-test score, the researcher used t-test analyzes. The result of the first hypothesis test which uses 5% significant degree, where the t-test obtained is (6.999) which also higher than that of t table (2.22). The second hypothesis test where the t-test obtained is (2.274) which is higher than that of t table (2.08). It shows that the students who are taught by Stand up Sequence Game having a higher score. In conclusion, that teaching English vocabulary using Stand up Sequence Game is more effective than that of without using Stand up Sequence Game.
