The main purpose of this study is to investigate the politeness markers on WA used by English-speaking groups in Indonesia to respond to greetings and congratulations. The data were the responses of research subjects on behalf of 50 group members of the English Student Club, 200 of English Teachers and 50 of English Lecturers, as shown by the politeness markers they respond to greetings and congratulations posted on the WA.
