'The Elusive Peace:' Expert on Mid-East Peace Process to Speak at AU 4/04/00
Alfred, NY -- One of the country's leading experts on the Mid-East peace process will speak on "The Elusive Peace" at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 16, in Howell Hall on the Alfred University campus.Focusing on the explosive relationship of Israel, Syria and the Palestinians, Dr. Bernard Reich of George Washington University and the State Department's Foreign Service Institute will address the failure to achieve a Mid-East settlement. His talk will be followed by a discussion.Reich, who has authored many books and articles, including Quest for Peace: United States-Israeli Relations and the Arab-Israeli Conflict, is an internationally known specialist on the subject of oil politics and terrorism. As an advisor to the U.S. government, he has testified before Congress and has completed studies for both Congress and the Department of Defense.Reich's talk, sponsored by Alfred University's Hillel Club, is open to the public free of charge.
