Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

Good morning

Respectable all teachers Honorable all the audiences

First of all, lets pray and thanks to Allah SWT who has been giving us some mercies and blessings so we can attend and gather in this place in good condition. And I don’t forget to say thanks to the master of ceremony who has giving me time to speak in front of you all.

Standing in front of you all, I would like to deliver my speech about bullying. But first, we must know the definition of bullying. So, what is bullying? Bullying is the use of force, threat, or coercion to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively dominate others. The behavior is often repeated and habitual. Have you ever been bullied? Has it happend to your friends?

Some people think that bullying is just a stage, a normal part of life. However, fact is – bullying is not a “normal” or socially acceptable behavior. We give bullies power by our acceptance of this behavior.

So what are the causes of bullying? It can be such as people feel strong, powerful, rich, and have everything. It happens coincidentally, he saw the weakness of others.

Ladies and gentleman,

There are many forms of bullying, among others;

1. Physical bullying: pulling hair, hitting, poking.

2. Bullying is emotional: reject, terrorizing, isolating , and any discrimination based on disability, and ethnicity or religion.

3. Verbal bullying: provide the name calling, taunting, and gossiping.

4. Sexual bullying: exhibitionism, committed fornication, and sexual abuse.

Just look around you, a lot of bullying activities that have taken place, at school, at home, and sometimes also can occur anywhere.

Ok, we go on to the next topic. The topic is the effects of bullying. Bullying can affect everyone who involved. Those who are bullied, those who bully and the bystanders.

People who are bullied might feel anxious, depressed, lonely or insecure and feel like crying a lot. Feel angry and wonder why this is happening to you. Feel afraid to go to anywhere.

Think the problem is relentless and wonder if it will ever stop.

People who frequently bully others are more likely to feel disconnected from school and dislike school. Get into fights, vandalise property and leave school early.

People who witness bullying may be reluctant to attend school. Feel fearful or powerless to act and guilty for not act.

Some people that have been bullied all their life decided to leave their old life because they don’t appreciate it and commit suicide. Bullying is so bad that it can end up with dying and killing others which shows how serious and bad this is!

Ladies and gentleman.

If this is happening to you, tell to yourself that it’s not your fault, and that it’s the bullies who need to change, not you. I have some steps for you if you are have been bullied.

This is what to do:

First, talk to someone you can trust, like a teacher, parent, older friend or relative.

Second, Be persistent. If the first person you talk to ignores you, don't give up. Speak to someone else

And the last, If you can, write down everything the bullies have done or have said to you, and try to write down how you feel. When you have found someone you can trust and who is helpful, discuss what you have written with that person. Be very careful to only write down things which really happen.

Okay, there are the steps. So, we have to change this problem and be a strong person. We can stop bullying that happen to us or somebody by know how to handle it.

Ladies and gentleman.

We must be aware on this problem. Just be strong, keep your head up high and do your best to stop bullying! Remember, Bullying is everyone’s business! Thank you for listening and Stop bullying!
