And why is there such a disparity between the theological training available to women and the training offered to men in nonacademic settings?” This set of thoughts led me to conclude that more women should pursue rigorous theological education, for the enrichment of their faith, for the development of their mentees and children, and for the improvement of local churches. This study is but another step into the unknown, directed by God and faithfully assisted by his saints—only a few of whom I have known here by name.

Embodiment
8 Allison notes that beyond simply having a body, “embodiment is a field of study that explores how people are bodily present and physically engaged in the world. The human capacity for embodiment is universally unconscious, but involves conscious engagement with the embodiment of the self. In the beginning, mankind was created by God for God's purposes; it is a created state.
Although Christ was deeply affected by sin in the world - to the point of his sacrificial death - his conscious human capacity was perfectly aligned with God's design for humanity. For believers, eternal embodiment means a state of glorified embodiment, participating in the final resurrection and enjoying God's presence for all eternity (John 11:25; 1 Cor 15; 1 Thess 4).18. These potential corruptions in the human capacity for embodiment include both unconscious and conscious perversions.
However, the incarnation of Christ did not eradicate the presence of sin or the sinful nature in the temporary state of existence. 23 Allison appropriately uses phantom limb syndrome as an illustration of the intermediate state of out-of-body experience. Embodiment is intended by God, appropriate to human existence, and inherently good.27 In the restored state, believers will experience a perfect alignment between the divine design for embodiment and their own human capabilities.
Gendered Embodiment
Paul Evdokimov, Woman and the Salvation of the World: A Christian Anthropology on the Charisms of Women, trans. 40 God created men after their kind; both men and women are of the human kind. The following section describes the female type and the unique female engagement of the common human characteristics.
Made in the same image, of the same kind, and of the same stature, man and wife were fashioned separately. Instead, humanity exists in two different representations of the imago Dei, both of which share human characteristics. The definition of gender according to the divine plan can be defined as the following statement: Gender refers to the two types of humanity—male and female—who share a unity of purpose, mandate, and virtue, but differ in the expression of common human qualities.
In this version of complementarity, the fundamental dignity and the significant distinctions of man and woman must be maintained and balanced. On the other hand, female expression is phenomenological and is the result of the ontological distinction of the female type of humanity. An attempt to do so is a conscious distortion of the human capacity for sexual embodiment, forcing an incompatibility between divine design and human capacity.
Dependent, Gendered Embodiment
God's interaction with humanity, especially evident in the incarnation and self-sacrifice of the Son, demonstrates God's independent, transcendent love for people (John. Worship can be understood as an acknowledgment of one's own dependence on God and a celebration of God's character, complete difference. Although God's plan for humanity's dependence intact, the human capacity for dependence was corrupted by sin.
Human capacity includes a person's desire for, expression of, and receptivity to relationship with God.89 People cannot change or reduce their need for God, but people can direct their desire toward false gods. As discussed in the previous section on the divine design for dependence, humans in the created state were intrinsically dependent on God. Mankind's dependence on God as part of their design is demonstrated in the reality of embodiment.
The presence of the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil" and the serpent's temptation to eat from it and "become like God" indicate limitations of. Since dependence is ontological, human beings will still be dependent on God in the restored state, illustrated in God's title as King (Revelation 19:16). 95 Note: God's saving act and commitment of free will are related, but not included within, the parameter of dependence.
Social, Dependent, Gendered Embodiment
Sociability is not limited to sexuality, although much research has directly linked interpersonal relationships to the sexual drive.103 Marco Cortez's view of sociality and sexuality is useful: "The reproductive and fertile nature of sexuality can be understood as an expression of this communal drive." 104 So innate " communal inclination' is not limited to – but is certainly expressed in – sexual activity. 105 There is sexual activity between married partners. 105 Stanley Grenz describes sexuality or the need for relationships as "the dynamic that forms the basis of the uniquely human drive to connect." Stanley J. Biblically and theologically, this divine order is expressed in the case of women (1) in relationship with other women as friendship, excluding same-sex attraction and homosexual activity; and (2) in relationship with men, as friendship, separate from lust and heterosexual activity (with one exception for such activity: marriage to a man).
Human sociality from a biblical perspective expresses itself, in the case of men, (1) in relationship with other men, as friendship apart from same-sex attraction and homosexual activity; and, (2) in relationship with women, as friendship apart from lust and heterosexual activity (with one exception for such activity: marriage to a woman).107. With the end of human marriage in the restored state, also comes the end of gender-specific roles in marriage. 109 Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines role as "a function or part performed especially in a particular operation or process." An alternative definition offered by Merriam-Webster is "a socially expected pattern of behavior usually determined by an individual's status in a particular society." The Merriam-Webster Dictionary, s.v.
In the eschaton, the divine design and the human capacity for sociality will be perfectly aligned. Marcia, 'The Status of the Statuses: Research Review', in Ego Identity: A Handbook for Psychosocial Research, by J. Although sexual activity and roles – as understood in the temporary state – will no longer exist, gender balance is an eternal necessity and reality.
Particular, Social, Dependent, Gendered Embodiment
Indeed, Barth argues for the cessation of all history, or "the cessation of history, history at the end of history, of the life history of the individual as well as the history of the world and the church" (102). Citizenship in God's kingdom and eternal brotherhood will fundamentally override – but not minimize or obliterate – the sense of belonging to any nation, tribe, ethnicity, family or historical context (Gal 3:28; Rev 7:9-10 ). Declaring oneself as a woman does not automatically mean that one receives the influence, recognition, obstacles, privileges and oppression that come with that social space.2 Pretending as if a self-declaration entitles one to the necessary historical attributes (social advantages and disadvantages) of occupying the role means devaluing the role and the persons who legitimately occupy that role.3 The inseparability of the material and. However, Scripture does not dictate common human traits that are gender specific, nor does it limit the expression of those traits (e.g., virtues) based on gender.5 The manner in which the common human traits are expressed is thus. Seminaries for women were established in America in the mid-nineteenth century, primarily on the idea that "women could not adequately fulfill the duties of wife and mother without a high degree of education and training." Sweet, "The Female Seminary Movement," 43. When someone asks the question, “What is a woman?” the answer that “a woman should do this” is hollow and incomplete.
