A. Findings
This part of findings is to answer the research question how women are represented in the film Bombshell by Jay Roach. To answer the question, the researcher identified, describe, and analyze character personality of three main character in film Bombshell. The researcher using Robert Stanton's character analysis theory that is according to the character's words, character behavior, conversations between characters.
1. According to the Character's Words a. Gretchen Carlson
- Patience
Datum 1 (Bombshell 0:50:28-54)
Patience is the propensity to wait calmly in the face of frustration or adversity.
(Schnitker, 2012)
“What could they say? You're sexy, but you're too much work. You're a men hater. To get ahead you gotta give a little head.”
“Do you know why we dress soldiers the same? So everybody knows they're replaceable. I refuse to be replaceable.”
Datum 1 diatas menunjukkan bahwa Gretchen memiliki karakter sabar.
Gretchen di panggil oleh Dieanne dan Bill untuk mengatakan bahwa Gretchen telah dipecat. Tetapi mereka tidak mau memberitahukan alasan Gretcen di pecat.
Mereka hanya diam saja saat Gretchen bertanya mengapa ia di pecat. Gretchen memilih untuk tetap tenang dan sabar saat ia di pecat tanpa diberitahukan alasan ia dipecat. Meskipun ia sebenarnya bisa saja marah tetapi ia urungkan karena ia sudah memiliki rencana untuk menggugat Roger Ailes.
- Self-Confidence

Datum 2 diatas menunjukkan bahawa Gretchen memiliki karakter percaya diri.
Setelah Gretchen di pecat dia langsung menelpon pengacaranya dan
memberitahukan bahwa ia sudah di pecat. Saat pengacaranya bertanya apakah Gretchen sudah siap untuk berperang. Gretcen menjawabnya dengan pasti dan tanpa ragu bahwa ia siap. Karena itulah yang memang Gretchen ingin lakukan.
b. Megyn Kelly - Big Mouth

The expression big mouth means like to brag. Bragging is a speech act employed with the goal of constructing a favorable self-image through positive statements about oneself. It is widespread in daily communication and especially popular in social media, where users aim to build a positive image of their persona directly or indirectly. (Jin et al., 2022)
“Early on he realized for a network to stay on 24 hours a day, you need something to hold an audience. That something is legs. There's a reason for clear desks”.
Datum 3 di atas menunjukkan bahwa Megyn memiliki karakter big mouth.
Megyn mengakui dirinya sendiri bahwa memiliki sifat big mouth. Setelah berbicara dengan Roger Ailes, Megyn kemudian menjelaskan tentang Roger Ailes. Megyn juga mengungkapkan alasan pertama kali di perusahaan tersebut memberlakukan aturan untuk pembawa berita perempuan. Sejak saat itu lah peraturan itu dibuat dan jika Roger melihat ada yang memakai pakaian yang tidak sesuai dengan aturan itu maka Roger akan langsung memarahinya.
- Idealist

Datum 4 diatas menunjukkan bahwa Megyn memiliki karakter idealist.
Megyn mempertanyakan kepada Donald Trump tentang postingan twitternya yang menurut Megyn itu hal yang merugikan bagi perempuan. Megyn juga mengatakan itu apakah itu yang di lakukannya sebagai seorang laki-laki yang akan dipilih sebagai presiden.
c. Kayla Pospisil - Worry Easily

Datum 5 diatas menunjukkan bahwa Kayla memiliki karakter mudah khawatir. Kayla sedikit khawatir tentang dirinya. Kemudian ia mengatakan pasti akan lebih baik jika seseorang mengatakan bahwa ia mencari yang lebih baik dari sekedar kaki. Tetapi Megyn mengatakan itu bukanlah tugas siapapun untuk melindunginya. Karena yang seharusnya itu adalah tugas dirinya sendiri untuk melindungi dirinya sendiri.

She had prepared all the things she would talk about and also to come to her attorney's place she had also prepared it from before. Gretchen had also considered what would happen to her attorney if her claim against her boss failed.

Conscientiousness is shown by people who imagine as a people that can be organized, careful, and responsible. (Ardiansyah A.p., 2018)
Megyn : Before I speak out, I need to know if this happened to other women in Fox. You understand that?

Datum 8 diatas menunjukkan bahwa Megyn memiliki karakter conscientiousness. Sebelum Megyn memutuskan untuk turun tangan menuntut Roger Ailes, Megyn terlebih dahulu mencari dan mengumpulkan bukti-bukti.
Megyn tidak ingin asal bicara. Jika sudah menemukan cukup bukti barulah Megyn akan pergi menemui pengacara untuk memberikan kesaksian.

Datum 10 menunjukkan bahwa Gretchen memiliki karakter sabar. Saat Gretchen sedang berbicara dengan Kayla tiba-tiba Roger datang sambil marah dan mengomentari segmen berita yang ia sebelumnya bawakan. Roger marah dikarenakan Gretchen yang tidak memakai makeup. Roger beranggapan tidak akan ada yang mau menonton
segmen berita yang menampilkan wanita setengah tua dan berkeringat. Gretchen menjawab semua perkataan Roger dengan sabar sambil menahan amarahnya karena ia paham tidak ada gunanya jika ia melawan.

Karena ia sangat antusias ingin bisa tampil di televisi maka ia hanya menurut saja dengan apa yang di suruhkan oleh Roger. Terlebih lagi Roger adalah seorang bos sehingga Kayla tidak bisa melawannya.

Akhirnya Kayla menelpon Jess untuk meminta saran kepadanya bahwa apa yang harus ia lakukan dan berpikir mungkin ia akan menelpon Paul Weiss. Jess sangat mendukung Kayla untuk segera menelpon Paul Weiss untuk mengatakan apa yang telah terjadi pada dirinya.
4. According to the Character Actions a. Gretchen Carlson
- Irritability

Irritability is a state that involves feelings of anger or frustration, of being impatient and quick to get annoyed, especially over small things. People with irritability have a tendency to react with anger to slight provocation. They have a short temper and may snap at people. (Legg, 2019).

Datum 16 menunjukkan bahwa Gretchen memiliki karakter irritability. Grethen datang menemui pengacaranya yaitu Nancy dan Neil. Kemudian Gretchen
menunjukkan kepada mereka beberapa klip saat Gretchen berada di sebuah acara.
Gretchen duduk di antara dua pria dalam membawakan acara tersebut. Mereka berbicara tentang laki-laki yang dominan. Gretchen tersinggung oleh kata-kata pria itu. Mereka terus membicarakan penampilan Gretchen dan membuatnya malu di TV. Pada akhirnya, Gretchen meninggalkan pertunjukan.

Meskipun pada awalnya tidak ada yang ada yang datang untuk memberikan kesaksian.
Tapi pada akhirnya setelah Megy bergerak dan juga memberikan kesaksian barulah beberapa perempuan lain juga memberikan kesaksian. Karena Gretchen tidak menyerah dan tetap percaya bahwa akan ada yang membantunya menggugat Roger. Akhirnya apa yang ia inginkan terjadi yaitu Roger berhenti dari Fox.
b. Megyn Kelly - Avoiding

Megyn : The whole point of an investigation is to find the truth, Jeanine. Until that happens I don't have a lot to say.
Jeanine : If this charge sticks, the working assumption would be every woman at Fox bent down on her knees, even you.
Megyn : If we sweep this thing under the rug, Jeanine, and it happen again. Under title seven Fox would be liable for compensatory and punitive damages, that could be hundreds of millions. Let's worry about the law before we do the PR, okay?
Jeanine : Does Roger want us? Yes. He's a man. He also gave us time, he gave us opportunity. We benefit from that kind of attention.

Datum 21 di atas menunjukkan bahwa Kayla memiliki karakter berani. Kayla menelpon Jess untuk meminta sarannya apa yang harus ia lakukan. Karena Kayla tidak tahu haru menelpon siapa. Kayla ingin mengajukan kepada Paul Weis apa yang telah Roger lakukan kepadanya dan Jess sangat mendukungnya untuk melakukannya.
- Optimist

Datum 22 diatas menunjukkan bahwa Kayla memiliki karakter optimis. Saat di umumkan bahwa Roger telah berhenti Kayla pun mulai berfikir tentang bagaimana jika ia tetap tinggal dan akankah tempat ia bekerja selanjutnya akan sama seperti di Fox atau mungkin ia bisa membuatnya berbeda. Akhirnya Kayla pun memutuskan untuk berhenti dari Fox.
B. Discussions
In this part, the researcher discusses the data analysis that had been found in Bombshell Film.
