Gestalt: Form or Shape
Unified whole
The idea of seeing the whole before the parts and that the whole becomes more than the sum of its parts is Gestalt.
How we make sense of what we see.
Pyschology of human perception.

The Laws of Gestalt
The Law of Similarity
We group objects that look similar.
The Law of Proximity
We group objects that are close together.
The Law of Common Fate
We group objects that are pointed
towards or flow in the same direction.
Once the eye begins to follow something, it
will continue in that direction until it encounters another object, following the smoothest path.
The Law of Continuity
The Law of Closure
We will complete incomplete objects.
Figure Ground
We can only focus on one at a time.
