'Alfred on the Record:' Selected work of new BFA graduates featured at NYC gallery 6/18/07
Just six weeks after graduating from Alfred University's acclaimed School of Art & Design, selected graduates will have an unusual opportunity to introduce themselves to the art world though the "Alfred on the Record" exhibition that opens June 28 at Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts in New York City."Alfred on the Record" is an "eclectic and exciting collection of ceramics, sculpture, video, print, painting and photography" by May graduates who received their Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees from the School of Art & Design, said Joseph S. Lewis III, dean of the School.This marks the second year the School has sponsored an exhibition that showcases the work of its newest BFA graduates, noted Lewis, who believes it is important to demonstrate both the excellence of the work and the breadth of the Alfred program. An opening reception will be held from 6-8 pm June 28 at the gallery, located at 508 West 26th St., Suite 5A, New York. Exhibiting ceramic art are:Elliott Kayser, son of Penny Kayser of Portland, OR. He is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.Chelsea Lorber, a graduate of Hastings High School. Her parents are Howard and Margo Lorber of Hastings-On-Hudson, NY.Michael Fitts, son of Anthony and Jeanne Fitts of Jamaica, NY. He is a graduate of Archbishop Malloy High School.Lyla Goldstein, a graduate of Ramapo High School.
