B
ecause of monetary considerations the Green Sheet will be going on a restricted publication basis, starting this summer. For the summer months (June, July and August) there will be only two issues per month. Publication dates will be June 12, June 26, July 10, July 24, Aug.
7
and Aug. 21. This means that deadlines for these issues will be June 7, June 21, July 5, July 19, Aug. 2, and Aug. 16. The University Calendar insert will appear once a month, May 29, June 26 and July 24. Deadlines for i t are the same as for the Green Sheet issues of those dates.
Then, starting in September, the Green Sheet will be published weekly but all issues will need to be restricted to four pages for the academic year. In very, very extreme situations, we may consider a six-page issue but, for all intents and purposes, the Green Sheet henceforth will be a four-page publication. This means that many items that previously enjoyed considerable coverage (such as honors and cultural events in the city) will probably have to be curtailed.
It also means that regularly scheduled programs, seminars, lectures and the like, should be sent at least two weeks in advance of publicaiton. Even better, if you know an entire semester's lecture schedule (or whatever) send it to the News Bureau intact. These items should be included in the University Calendar, which will continue to be distributed with the Green Sheet twice a month.
The Green Sheet will continue to endeavor to cover the diverse developments and attractions of this campus to the best of its ability. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the bureau.
