Background

Teachers must be able to have their own skills in using learning media so that students' skills and knowledge can be increased. One of the learning media capable of realizing conducive learning situations, active, creative, effective and fun, is the use of animated film media. These four skills must be able to be possessed and revised since entering junior high school.

Previous of Research

Another study on speaking was also conducted by Suyoto (2003) titled Effect of Ability to Respond to Teacher Tutors and Verbal Thinking Abilities of Elementary School Students to their Speaking Ability. The result of this study concluded that among the factors of ability to respond to teacher's speech and speaking ability ranked first, while the ability to think verbally with students' speaking ability ranked second. Thus, the speaking ability of a student of the second grade of primary school will increase if the teacher contributes to the ability to respond to his speech.

Learning Media

In the development of films can be used for teaching media, here are 12 types of films that can be used for media teaching or learning of Mc. Emulative film: this is a film usually used for war training which is the core so that the audience can imitate what is shown in the film. Drill Films: In this film, the audience will participate in the activities that were aired in the film.

Speaking Ability

An educational themed cartoon that contains positive values ​​can stimulate thinking and discussion in groups of students; cartoons can be played to larger or smaller groups, heterogeneous groups and individuals. Speaking does not only involve knowing a linguistic feature; the linguistic feature of a message that expands oral communication requires more than just memorized vocabulary and grammatical understanding. One of the obstacles in learning speaking is the contradiction between the teaching material and the subjects, so most teachers do not facilitate situations for real speaking practice;.

Conceptual Study

The subject will be screened if he/she has difficulty with English speaking ability. The author intends to use the medium of animated film as an incentive and motivation for the subject to be able to speak in English. After learning to speak using the medium of animated film, the subject's speaking ability is expected to increase.

Hypothesis

The subject of research is mainly interested in visual images that can be moved and voiced. Animated film media is a learning medium that utilizes visual and auditory as a medium for learning. So the use of animation movies can improve the ability to speak English.

Factors Investigated

Before implementing the action, the researcher conducts preliminary actions to determine the initial abilities of the students. In this stage of action the teacher collaborates with the researcher that the teacher provides teaching material while the researcher makes observations. Observation aims to observe student participation and teacher performance or role using film media.

The observations made were then recorded and documented on the observation instruments prepared by the researcher. Reflection activity is an activity to see the impact of the actions given, assess, see and consider the impact of the actions taken. After performing all the actions using animated film media and collecting all the data so that the data analysis is done.

If the results of the actions taken are not in accordance with the set success criteria, the researcher starts planning the next actions. Student observations relate to students' ability to master predetermined criteria. During learning, observations are made by providing a checklist and necessary notes.

The preparation of the guide grid of the test used in this study is based on the component of speaking ability that is selected to be used as research material.

Data Colection

The result of the calculation is then collected and compared between one cycle I and cycle II. The results of the comparison that is what then gives an overview and decides how big an increase in the ability to tell a story using media animated movie.

Based on the data in table 4.2 it can be stated that the results of the speaking skills test for class X MIA 1 students of SMAN 15 LUWU reached a total value of 45.31% in the Sufficient category. Based on the data in table 4.3 it can be stated that the results of the Speaking Proficiency Test for class X MIA 1 students of SMAN 15 LUWU reached a total value of 46.09% in the adequate category. Out of the 32 students, there is 1 student or 3.12% of students who achieved in the good category.

From the data in Table 4.4, it can be found that the results of the speaking ability test of class X MIA 1 students of SMAN 15 LUWU reached an overall value of 39.84% in the deficient category. Based on the data in Table 4.5, it can be stated that the results of the Speaking Ability Test for Class X MIA 1 students in SMAN 15 LUWU reached an overall value of 34.37% in the Deficient category. Based on the data in Table 4.6, it can be found that the results of the speaking ability test of class X MIA 1 students of SMAN 15 LUWU reached an overall value of 43.75% in the adequate category.

Out of 32 students, 24 students, or 75% of the students, achieved a satisfactory grade. We can say that the results of students in the 1st cycle are still low. Based on the data in Table 4.9, it can be concluded that the results of the speaking ability test of students of class X MIA 1 SMAN 15 LUWU achieved a total score of 62.5% in the category of sufficient.

Out of 32 students, there are 2 students or 6.25% of the students who scored in the good category. Based on the data in table 4.10 it can be said that the results of the speaking ability test for students of class X MIA 1 of SMAN 15 LUWU achieved a total score of 54.68% in the sufficient category. Based on the data in table 4.11 it can be said that the results of the speaking ability test using animated film media for students of class X MIA 1 of SMAN 15 LUWU achieved a total score of 54.68% in the sufficient category.

Discussion

It can be said that the improvements in the 2nd cycle are very beneficial and have an effect on the students. Based on the data, we can conclude that the students' storytelling competences are classified as good. Looking at it from all angles, it scored a perfect value in the good category.

It can be explained that the test scores of students' speaking skills in the pre-cycle reached 1,340, with an average value of 41.87 in the "deficient" category. This indicates that the test results obtained in cycle 2 had an increase of 2,575 or that the average value achieved was 80.46 in the good category. Based on the data collected, it can be said that the application of talking learning using animated film media has been successful in learning in class X MIA 1 LUWU SMAN 15.

This can be seen by the increase in the average success of students who have reached the limit of 75. However, in the first cycle, students lacked completion of questions and answers, and enthusiasm was not there when students were tasked to speak in front of their friends to re-explain the animated films that had been seen. In cycle 2, the researcher took another action, the researcher gave more motivation to the students.

From the discussion it can be stated that the use of animation film media to improve students' speaking ability is very effective.

Meningkatkan Keterampilan Bercerita Menggunakan Media Film Kartun Menggunakan Metode Talking Stick pada Siswa Kelas VII C SMP Negeri 1 Banjarharjo Brebes. Penggunaan Media Film Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Mendengarkan Pada Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Siswa Tunarungu Kelas VII SMPLB B. Penggunaan Media Film Animasi Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Anak Autis Kelas III Sekolah Dasar Di Slb Rela Bhakti I Gamping.

Pengaruh penggunaan media film animasi dalam pembelajaran IPS terpadu terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Kartini 1 Batam tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Kegiatan yang harus dilakukan siswa sebelum bercerita adalah mengidentifikasi pokok-pokok cerita yang meliputi jenis cerita, tokoh, hal-hal penting yang terjadi dalam alur/modus cerita, dialog, tema, pesan. Guru mempersilahkan siswa untuk menentukan siswa yang mampu menceritakan kisah terbaik dan memberikan penghargaan kepada siswa yang kinerjanya paling baik.

Indikator: 1) Siswa mampu bercerita secara runtut/kronologis 2) Siswa mampu bercerita dengan suara lantang 3) Siswa mampu bercerita dengan pengucapan yang jelas 4) Siswa mampu bercerita dengan intonasi yang tepat 5) Siswa mampu bercerita dengan ekspresi yang sesuai Alokasi waktu: 4 x 40 menit (2 x pertemuan). Kegiatan yang sebaiknya dilakukan siswa sebelum bercerita adalah menentukan pokok-pokok cerita yang meliputi jenis cerita, tokoh, pokok-pokok penting yang terjadi dalam alur/cara cerita, dialog, tema, pesan. Guru memotivasi keberanian siswa dalam menyikapi penampilan temannya sebagai model dengan memberikan poin plus, kemudian guru memberikan penguatan dengan menjelaskan hal-hal yang harus dikuasai dan dicapai dalam kegiatan bercerita 3.

Guru memberikan penguatan sekali lagi dalam hal mengidentifikasi dan menentukan pokok-pokok cerita, serta hal-hal yang perlu dilakukan. Guru mengadakan lomba bercerita yang melibatkan seluruh siswa untuk menentukan peringkat penampilan bercerita terbaik. Guru merefleksikan pembelajaran yang telah dicapai dengan menanyakan hasil diskusi dengan mengidentifikasi dan menentukan apakah pokok-pokok cerita sudah sama dan dipahami serta mengajukan pertanyaan.
