CHAPTER VI CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

VI.1 Conclusion

Based on a comprehensive analysis of the findings and in-depth discussions presented in this study, it is evident that the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 for construction logistic management in the road preservation project in South Kalimantan has yielded substantial progress and notable benefits. The research delved into the examination of nineteen out of the twenty variables identified by Trigunarsyah et al. (2011) as crucial indicators for measuring the level of ISO 9001 implementation. The results revealed that an impressive total of 16 indicators have been successfully and comprehensively implemented.

This significant level of accomplishment in implementing ISO 9001:2015 reflects the project's commitment to adopting and adhering to internationally recognized quality management standards. It signifies the project team's dedication to ensuring a robust and efficient construction logistic management system, which plays a vital role in the success of the road preservation project in South Kalimantan.

The successful implementation of sixteen out of the nineteen analyzed indicators underscores the project's ability to effectively address various quality management aspects. It signifies a substantial improvement in key areas, such as documentation, process control, resource management, and customer focus. These achievements are a testament to the project team's meticulous planning, diligent execution, and strong adherence to the ISO 9001:2015 framework.

However, the three variables that were not fully implemented have their respective justifications, which ultimately led to the certification of the Road Preservation Project with ISO 9001. These justifications highlight the project team's commitment to continuous improvement and their ability to address specific challenges related to those variables. The successful certification serves as a testament to the project's dedication to meeting internationally recognized quality

management standards and reinforces the project team's ability to adapt and overcome obstacles to achieve excellence in construction logistics management. It showcases their unwavering commitment to delivering a robust and efficient road preservation project in South Kalimantan while upholding the principles of ISO 9001:2015.

VI.2 Suggestion

Based on the findings of this final project, several suggestions are offered for further research and improvement:

1. This study focused on data collected from a single large-scale project. In future research, it is recommended to expand the scope by including a larger number of projects (at least 5) to enable a comparative analysis of ISO standard implementation.

2. Subsequent studies could consider incorporating other ISO standards, such as ISO 14001, which focuses on environmental management practices including waste management and other related aspects.

The suggestions provided for further research in this chapter aim to enhance the understanding of ISO implementation in the construction industry. Expanding the project sample size and exploring other ISO standards will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of ISO's impact on construction project management and environmental sustainability.
