We wish to submit a manuscript entitled “Severe hyperthermia induces apoptosis, and suppression of heat shock protein 90-alpha expression in osteosarcoma cells” for consideration by The Indonesian Biomedical Journal.
Although hyperthermia is used as an adjuvant treatment to sensitize cancer cells to subsequent radio- or chemotherapy, a little is known about the effect of hyperthermia on osteosarcoma cells and its potential as a treatment modality. In this study we found that severe hyperthermia causes a long term and significant apoptotic effect associated with ER stress and inhibition of Hsp90-alpha. The paper should be of interest to readers in the field of cancer research. We really hope that this article will be accepted for publication by Journal “The Indonesian Biomedical Journal” so that it may urge other researchers to be interested in further studies of hyperthermia.
