INTRODUCTION:

This assignment covers chapter 1 and chapter 2 of this course on topics of Descriptive Statistics and Measures of Central Tendency and

Dispersion.

DIRECTION(S)/REQUIREMENT(S):

1. Find a short article/graphic info that is business related from any source that exemplifies the use of statistics.

a. Provide the article in the report and cite appropriately.

b. Identify and describe one statistic reported in the article.

c. State the variable related to the statistic in part (ii).

d. Describe the sample related to the statistics in part (ii).

e. Describe the population from which the sample in part (iv) was taken.

f. Students are required to present the findings above.

2. The data below shows the distribution of 66 employees that were surveyed based on their gender on their satisfaction score working in the company in the past 6 months. They were also recorded by their position in the company as Senior, Executive or Junior level. The survey resulted in the raw data presented in the table as follows.

d. Construct a frequency distribution for Stress Score. (use 17 – 20 as starting class). Compute midpoint, fx, fx2 and cumulative frequency.

e. Using the data from (d), construct an appropriate graph/chart.
