2011 Service Learning Research Academy Draws National Parcipation
In May 2011 the Center for Service and Learning (CSL) and Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) co- hosted a Service Learning Institute and IUPUI Research Academy. Workshops during the first half of this week-long event focused on helping faculty infuse service learning pedagogy into course syllabi, identify ways to engage community partners as co-educators, and connect with others using service learning to generate new ideas for teaching. The second half of the week focused on service learning research and scholarship (e.g., research design, measurement, methodology, theory, discussing research ideas and strategies). Facilitators included Dr. Bob Bringle, Dr. Patti Clayton, Dr. Julie Hatcher, JR Jamison, Mary Price, Kristin Norris, Dr. Katie Stanton, Kathy Steinberg, and Dr. Maggie Stevens.
