Where marked caries activity has been indicated that part of the caries control program that is dietary regulation, may be of distinct alue. There can be no doubt that an adequate, well-balanced diet during and after tooth formation is best for good general and dental health. Spe- cial diets should be recommended only for those patients who are truly cooperati e.

In connection with diet and dental caries it might be of interest to the reader to know that the dental chool pedodontics department has es- tablished lia on with the Riley Hospital children's
diabetic clinic which meets e ery Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m.. There are OYer 50 children associ- ated with this clinic. Mo t of these children have been under supervision for several years.
It is possible for the J>edodontics department with the facilities of this clinic to study tooth decay in these youngster and also to study the effect of well-balanced, low carbohydrate diet upon oral health.
