These represent processed pixels in the inner mask that affect the foreground blur. However, this parameter allows you to increase (if greater than zero) or decrease (if less than zero) the alpha in the Screen Matte.
Simple Key
The image above is the blue screen foreground to be composited over the background shown below. Create a new composition with SaintFG.tif and SaintBG.tif, layer the clips with the blue screen over the background as shown below. Select the blue screen clip (SaintFG.tif) in the Schematic window and apply Keylight from the Effect - Keying menu.
Select the Screen color pipettor and click on the blue screen in the composition window. A good place to choose is the blue one from the rear window, as it has no reflections. In many cases, this is all you need to do to execute a key, as selecting the screen color creates a matte and removes the foreground.
Fine Tuning a Key
Black pixels tell us that the clean background will be seen here in the final composition. What we want is a clean background showing through the window, but with some reflections in the side window preserved. The background has been cleaned up and we still have some reflections in the side window.
Finally, if you look closely at the composition, you will see a small amount of blue poured into the woman's hand and hair. When you do this, the image and screen color will have the blue component scaled before the key is pulled to remove more blue. The best way to do this is by drawing a round line around the face as shown below and using it as the inside.
To remove the blue highlights on the cheeks, set the Replace method to Soft Color rather than Source.
