The International Board of Trustees consists of the President, the Immediate Past President, two Vice Presidents, the Treasurer and twelve Trustees. The Secretary is appointed by the Board of Administrators, participates in the meetings of the Board and acts as secretary of the Board. A Finance Committee, consisting of three members of the Executive Committee, is appointed by the President, with the approval of the Board.

This is very valuable for their promotion of international goals in their districts. Volunteer service is one of the core principles of Kiwanis and a major factor in its success. GENERAL OFFICE at 520 North Mich·. is one of the most practical illustrations of Kiwanis administrative efficiency.

The work of the general office is carried out under the direction of the international board. This department has direct supervision of all work done by the general office, including arrangements for official meetings of the board. The magazine also carries authorized notices and editorial articles about the organization's work.

INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEES

These committees are appointed by the International President and serve from the time of their appointment until the end of the following club and district year. The effective functioning of the club committee is the goal of this potentially productive correlation between international, district and club organization.

Some Kiwanis publications have found usefulness far beyond the boundaries of the organization. Many valuable pamphlets have been prepared by both the officers of the organization and the committees, until there has been built up a substantial and steadily growing library of informative and inspiring literature on the various phases of Kiwanis. The Club Officers Handbook is an authoritative and comprehensive compendium of information and instructions on the work of local club officers.

It describes the functions of the various committees and offers practical suggestions regarding committee work. Even if every service activity were reported and the number of projects multiplied several times over, the record would still be far too short to be an accurate measure of the achievements of Kiwanis since its inception in 1915 or an adequate measure of its provide value. Because, notwithstanding all that Kiwanis does for underprivileged children and community improvement, for the improvement of business and professional standards and of the relationship between the farmer and the city man, for the promotion of vocational guidance and the development of intelligent and responsible citizenship, the The real genius of Kiwanis is to be found in its ability to strain the bonds of community for the task of constructive community leadership, and to inspire in a representative group of citizens an enthusiasm for the general welfare of the community.

It is listed as an activity of the Congressional year 1923-24. and continued as such until his dedication, September 16, 1925, but his influence continues year after year.
