Mental disorder comorbidities
Current mental disorders other than DPD were as follows: Major depression (n=15), dysthymia (n=7), social phobia (n=5), agoraphobia (n=5), generalized anxiety disorder (n=3), obsessive-compulsive disorder (n=3), bruxism (n=1). There were 9 patients with personality disorders, with 6 from the fearful cluster, 1 histrionic and 2 Borderline personality disorders.
In the DPD group, 9 patients took antidepressants (6 SSRIs, 1 venlafaxine, 1 mirtazapine, 1 tricyclic). Medication in this inpatient sample was low, as there is no evidence-based pharmacological treatment regime for DPD (1, 2).
