GENERAL STRATEGIES
1. B e fam iliar w ith th e d irectio n s. The directions on every TOEFL test are the same, so it is not necessary to listen carefully to them each time. You should be completely familiar with the directions before the day of the test.
2. L isten carefully to t h e co n v ersa tio n s and ta lk s. You should concentrate fully on what the speakers are saying in the recording program, because you will hear it one time only.
3. K now w h e r e th e e a sie r and m o r e difficult q u es tio n s are gen erally foun d. Within each part of the Listening Comprehension section, the questions generally progress from easy to difficult.
4. N e v e r lea v e any an sw ers blank on y o u r a n sw e r s h e e t. Even if you are unsure of the correct response, you should answer each question. There is no penalty for guessing.
