Living Hope for The Lost

Today I pray that God will give you a fresh revelation of his heart, his love, and his Mercy and Grace.

Lord, break our hearts with what breaks yours!

Many Are Lost

So many are hopelessly lost, broken, and hurting.

I do not know what is happening in your life, but I need you to know that God loves you, he sees you, he knows what is happening, and he is able to touch you and bring change.

Today I want to show you Jesus’ heart.

In Matthew 9:35-38 it tells us…

“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

When Jesus saw the crowds, he saw their hurt. He knew they were lost. His heart was broken.

When Jesus saw the lost and hurting, he didn’t condemn them – He showed them mercy, grace, and compassion.

Jesus Came for The Lost

We are told that “Jesus is a friend of sinners.” (Matthew 11:19) Do you realize that we were cut off from God because of sin? Our eternity was at risk of hell!

Do you realize what Jesus did for you?

(2)

Look to the cross. Jesus died and shed his blood so that we can be free. He died to save you and me.

In 1 John 4:9-10, it tells us…

“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—

not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”

Jesus paid the FULL PRICE for our sin on the cross so that sinful man could find forgiveness, eternal life, and be brought back into a relationship with God.

Galatians 2:21 tells us…

“I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.”

Jesus Came to Save The Lost

Jesus paid a huge price for your life. He did not do this for nothing. He did it to save us. His heart is to reach the lost.

We are told that “Jesus came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10) In Luke 15, it tells the story of the prodigal son…

This son messed up. He got involved in all types of sin. He eventually hit rock bottom. When he was at his lowest point, he came to his senses. He realized that he had messed up so he decided to return home.

On his journey back to his father, he rehearsed how he was going to tell him that he had messed up, how he was no longer worthy to be his son, and how he was going to plead with his dad to take him back as a slave in the home.

Luke 15:20 tells us, “So he returned home to his father.” We are told that

“while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.”

Do you see the love of the father for his messed-up son?

The father didn’t even give his son a chance to repent. He put a new robe on his son and placed a ring on his finger to symbolize that he was accepted back into the family – not as a slave but as a dearly beloved son.

(3)

He didn’t condemn his son, even though his son had humiliated him and let the family down. He threw a party to celebrate. The father was overjoyed. He said, “For this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So, the party began.” (Luke 15:24)

Are you lost? Do you feel like it is too late – like you have missed the mark?

You may feel sunk. You may even be walking on a slippery slope that is headed straight for destruction and hell, without a Savior.

Today, return to your Father. He loves you. Jesus paid the full price so that you can find forgiveness, new life, and be reconnected to the Father.

If you want to start or restart your walk with God, click here to pray a simple prayer we have set up for you.

One day there is going to be a day of judgment.

In 2 Peter 3:9-10, we are told…

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.

Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The

heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.”

In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus told us…

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

In life, according to Jesus, there are two roads:

 There is a highway to hell or destruction: According to Jesus, many are on this road.

 There is a narrow road that leads to life, but according to Jesus, only a few are on it.

This is the very reason that Jesus died on the cross. He gave his life for us so that we can be saved and set free.

Jesus Sets Free

In Isaiah 53:5-6 we are told that concerning the Messiah…

(4)

“He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet

the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.”

All our sins were laid on Jesus. He was the pure spotless Lamb of God who paid the full price for our sins so that we could be made right with God.

Jesus was whipped for our healing. He was beaten for our peace so that we could be made whole. He was nailed to the cross for our sins.

Do you see God’s love that he has for you and me? Do you see Jesus’ mercy and grace? He came to save the lost. Jesus paid the full price so that we can go free.

Do you see his heart?

He died for sinners. He made the way for you and me to come back into a relationship with God. He gave his life for our transgressions and failures so that we could be made right with God.

What undeserved love! What mercy! What grace! You cannot earn it. We do not deserve it, yet God sent Jesus to save us.

In John 3:16-17 we are told…

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

If you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, call on Him now. Turn to him now. If you have let go of God, it is time to return. He is waiting for you. Are you ready? What are you waiting for?

If this is you, you can surrender your life to Jesus. Today you can know God’s peace and his forgiveness. You can begin a walk with God, that starts today, knowing God is with you no matter what comes your way. This walk with God will go right into eternity. Today is your day of salvation. Call on Jesus now…

Let us pray…

Dear Lord Jesus, I need you. I know that I am lost and that I have sinned. I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Saviour. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

(5)

If you prayed this prayer and made the decision to give your life to Jesus, please let us know! We would love to send you some resources to help you in your new walk with God!

Now, I have one more area I need to address…

Lord, Break Our Hearts with What Breaks Yours

Maybe today you are a Child of God. Maybe you know Jesus as your Savior.

Your eternity may be secure. You may be able to face tomorrow, knowing that God is your God and that he is with you.

You may know God’s peace, his provision, his protection, and his leading, but what about those who have messed up, lost, or don’t know about the loving Savior?

God paid a huge price for lost people.

There are so many people who are lost, confused, bruised, battered, and downtrodden by the calamities of this world.

We need to reach out to those who have lost their way.

Go!

Jesus told us to in Mark 16:15…

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be

condemned.”

This is a command: GO!

Go preach the Good News. Go share the greatest news of all time – No matter how far you have fallen, there is a Savior who loves you.

These are Jesus’ final words after he died on the cross and before he ascended into heaven.

How Will They Know of Jesus?

How will they know if we don’t tell them?

(6)

Romans 10:9-11 tells us…

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

Romans 10:13-15 continues…

“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Maybe today you are a child of God. God is calling you to reach your world.

Jesus told us to in Mark 16:15…

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be

condemned.”

In Mark 9:38, Jesus also told us…

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

We Need to Reach The Lost

If your neighbor’s home was on fire and you knew they were inside, would you just let them burn?

Surely you would bang on the door. Scream. Shout.

If they were in the back of the house watching tv or sleeping, would you not do everything possible to get their attention?

If they didn’t respond, would you not break their door down in order to save them, or would you let them just burn?

I’m sure you would do everything possible to save them.

(7)

But when it comes to eternity, many just leave it…

There is a real Heaven and a real Hell.

Jesus spent more time warning us about the fires of hell than talking about the joys of heaven!

Why?

He doesn’t want anyone to perish!

In Jude 1:23 we are told…

“Save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.”

The reality is that life on Earth is short and fragile. We were made to live forever. Life does not end at the grave. We will continue to live in eternity…

The question is, “Where will you spend your eternity?”

 Heaven

 Hell

Both destinations are permanent.

Many are lost. Many are walking straight into hell. We, as children of God, are supposed to be ambassadors of Jesus Christ, but many are just sitting back and watching.

Lord, break our hearts with what breaks yours!

Many are lost. Many are living without a Savior. Many are walking down a slippery pathway that is heading toward death and destruction. Many have let go of God. Some are walking straight into hell without even knowing it.

There is a loving Savior who made a way for all people to

find forgiveness, peace, and abundant life. His name is Jesus. And he calls you to reach your world.

Lord, break our hearts with what breaks yours!

God calls you to share the good news with your world. God calls you to reach out to those who have lost their way. God wants to empower you to reach the lost and bring hope to the hurting.

(8)

Be Available

All we need to do is be available.

Do you want to live a blessed life? All you need to do is be available for God.

Say, “Lord, I will go where you want me to go. Lord, I will speak what you want me to speak. Lord, I will do what you want me to do.”

Acts 1:8 tells us…

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

God wants to empower you to reach your world.

You just need to be available.

In John 14:12-14, Jesus told us…

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

According to Jesus, we will do the same works he did and even greater works than he did.

When Jesus walked the earth, he healed the sick, delivered the oppressed, and even raised the dead. All we need to be is available and share the good news of Jesus.

There is power in the name of Jesus. Jesus told us to pray using his name.

When you know the person behind the name, you will see that the name of Jesus is power. Declare the name that is above all names. Pray in the name of Jesus. Lift up the name of Jesus.

In John 12:32, Jesus told us…

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”

In 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 we are told…

(9)

“And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.”

Paul came humbly.

He didn’t try to persuade people with clever speeches. He didn’t come in eloquence.

All he did was lift up Jesus.

He shared the good news of Jesus Christ and the message of the cross, and God demonstrated His power. The lost found a Savior. Sinners found

forgiveness. The burdened found peace. People found hope and abundant life in Jesus.

This is Your Moment in History

Many are lost. Many are dying without a Savior. Many are walking straight into hell.

We know the good news.

Jesus is The Savior of the World.

He came to seek and save the lost.

Jesus paid the full price on the cross to save us.

How will they know if we don’t tell them?

We need to reach out.

May God open up doors of opportunity for you.

Be available.

Go share the good news.

He will empower you.

(10)

All you need to do is lift Jesus up.

Step up.

Step out.

God wants to do great works in you and through you.

May God give you a deep revelation of…

 The reality of eternity

 What is happening in the world

 What Jesus did on the cross

 His heart for the lost, bruised, battered, and bound Lord, break our hearts with what breaks yours!

Father, we are your people. Please fill us. Come empower us. Come light a fire in our hearts. Give us a fresh revelation of our times, of your heart.

Break our hearts with what breaks yours. Touch your children, Lord. Anoint your children, Lord. Do great and might exploits in and through your

children. Equip us. Empower us by your Holy Spirit. We ask this in Jesus’

name. Amen.
