This chapter presents about two points of conclusion and suggestion. The conclusion is given based on the result of the data analysis and the suggestion is to improve the teaching writing descriptive text.

5.1. Conclusion

Implementation mind mapping technique on writing descriptive text can be important. In addition, it can be concluded that the researcher successfully implemented the mind mapping technique for teaching writing descriptive text to the seventh grade students.

Mind mapping technique is an effective teaching technique for teaching writing to the seventh grade students of SMP Sunan Ampel Porong.

Since Mind mapping technique is simple, fun, and arousing students’

creativity in generating and organizing their ideas, students are getting more active and more encouraged to study writing and improved their writing skills. As a result, the students’ writing achievement is improved optimally.

5.2 Suggestion

Writing is one of English skills which is often considered as difficult skill for students. Based on the conclusion above, the researcher wants to gave some suggestions as follow.

5.2.1 The Teacher

English teachers are expected to do following. First, the teachers should be good at making materials and learning topics to interest students. Second, the teachers must also have a learning technique that can make students creative and interested in following the materials presented by the teacher, especially at the time of writing the learning process. Third, the relationship between teachers and students should be established either.

Fourth, the teacher should consider the students not only as students but also as friends. It is very important, because it can make the students comfortable with the teacher. Other than that, a good relationship between students and teachers will also make the learning atmosphere in class will be fun and alive. The last, teachers also need to be good at applying existing technologies in the teaching process.

5.2.2 The Students

The students are expected to do following things. First memorizing mind mapping method is very easy and fun which can help to organize the ideas in descriptive writing. Second, the students should improve their knowledge, vocabulary, and grammar to progress descriptive writing ability. Third, the students should pay attention to the teacher and be active in the class. The last, the students

should keep studying English enthusiasm and never give up. English is very easy, fun, and very important to be learned because it is one of international language that is mostly used in daily life.

5.2.3 The Researcher

The researcher hopes that other researchers do a similar topic with larger population to get further information of progress of mind mapping, because the researcher believes that mind mapping technique can help the students in remembering vocabulary easily.

Hence, the result will be more applicable.
