4. (A) Organize and Categorize content

5. (A) Switch between languages or dialects within a post message PART B - Matching

PART C - Short Answer

1. Digital discourse is basically how we use language online like in texts, tweets, posts, comments, etc. it’s different from traditional spoken or written language because it’s usually more casual and uses stuff like emojis or abbreviations. Like.

someone might text “lol i’m crying😭” instead of saying ‘that is so funny, i’m crying out of laughter”

2. A hashtag is the “#” symbol followed by a word or a phrase, like #MondayMood or #OOTD . it helps organize posts so people can find stuff related to that topic. It also adds some extra meaning, like showing your mood or being part of a trend.

3. Multimodality just means using more than one way to communicate. Online, that could be a mix of texts, pictures, emojis, Stickers, GIFs, and videos. So instead of just saying you’re tired, you might write “I’m done 😩💤” with emojis to show it better.

4. Emojis show emotion or tone that text alone might not. Like, if you say “Sure.” it sounds dry, but “Sure 😊” feels more friendly. They make it easier to understand how someone really feels.

5. Internet slang helps people sound like they’re part of a certain group or vibe online. People use words like “slay,” “fr,” “bet,” or phrases like “it’s giving…” to show they’re in tune with certain trends or communities. The digital world pushes this because things go viral fast, and people want to fit in or be funny or relatable.

Part D - Data Analysis

Tweet Analysis - This tweet is super casual. First, we got abbreviations like “idk” and

“lol”, classic internet talk. Then the lowercase letters make it feel chill and unfiltered.

Emojis like 😭 and 💀 add emotional drama. it’s like saying “I’m dead tired” but in a funnier way. The hashtags aren’t just for search—they’re part of the message too,

showing the person is kinda joking but also connecting with others who are also up late.

Instagram Caption - The caption in this one mixes motivation and exhaustion. “grind never stops” shows hustle culture vibes, and the emojis make it more expressive. The phrase “we move” is a kind of slang for pushing through tough times. Hashtags like

#studentlife and #burnoutculture show they’re part of that student struggle and are being relatable to others who feel the same.
