may
be reckoned as one of those Cllus~ that produce such"Ereatdecline in religion; for there are many pernicious effects produced 'by members failing to fill their seats on the days of church business. Jst.
'The memM19 Tepeatedly failing to attend his or her c1lQrcb meeting, without a go~Qs~, {such a one that we would not be ashamed to make m the (fq of Judgement,) is guilty of breaking his cavenant with the church, made at the time he became a member; for wheA persottS at- tach themselvell to a churdl,it is slearly understood they will observe the l'I1les of the -tame; UQong which it is known that they expect to meet in a chupch capacity at least once 8. month. ,

The christian whe haS become negligent in this duty, has evident- ly lost that IOV4!;.and fellowship for his brethren which characterise him as a christian,. and with them hie best evidence that he bas pafllied from death unto life.4tb. It is well calculated to wound the feelings of the brethren.
5th. How must your minister feel who has rode from 10 to 15 miles to yteacb to you, and perhaps when he arives does not find more members than he bas rode oules to see you? We would naturally be led to 8\lP- pose, (if he ha&lef. his4emporal concerns which perhaps really required his attention,) that he DJUst feel much discouraged, and that flame of zeal kindled in his breast much abated:, ",hen he so often finds tbat t~ breth- ren whoflad called him to attend them, ~ould manifest such great indif- ference as not to be willing to spare a fe~ boo,! from worldly PUrsUits to
