Of course you need a certain kind of tractor. And Case has done something about that. I am asking every FFA chapter in this country to get involved in this fundamental issue of energy conservation and production that is closely related to food, in conserving energy and finding new ways to use it more efficiently." With a will to work and an ambition to succeed, Ned Smith claimed ownership of the farm during his senior year of high school. For the bank, lending money to Ned was a "good risk". Active in many FFA activities in Mississippi while a member of the Utica Chapter, Troy Majure earned a State Farmer degree and served as State FFA President. Sometimes they describe the machine in full, as "seeder" or "spreader". But more often than not, tool names have hidden meanings. As late as 1923, large-scale farmers in Montana's wheat country called the machines by their correct and proper name: "combined harvester and thresher." Since then, the term has been shortened to the single word we now use to talk about grain harvesters, says George Eastman, product manager for combines at Sperry New Holland.
Terminals located in field offices throughout the state are used by local farmers who type data into the terminal and send telephone wires to a central computer on the university campus. FFA WEEK
Before competing, FFA member John Hoffman of Whitewater, Wisconsin, carefully checks the engine of his micro mini tractor. 16-year-old John Hoffman is quick to point out that his miniature John Deere4020 is anything but a toy. Instead, it's a micro mini tractor puller that will power down a 16-foot wooden track, grinding its gears while pulling a sled that weighs nearly 100 pounds.
The young farmer explains that the mini tractor must retain the tractor-like appearance of the original model, such as the body, seat, steering wheel and hood. Although the teenager hasn't won any major tournament trophies since suffering the mini tractor pull last fall, John Hoffman Jr. has no plans to stop – he will. 13-year-old Wally Haste from Donovan, Illinois, steers his micro tractor along the 16-foot stretch of wooden track.
Micro tractors like the one below often represent a significant investment for the builder - from $150 to $200.

FALCON LADY
The 'sport of kings' for the 11th century Mongols: falconry was reserved for royalty with falconry for amerlin, for a page and a kestrel for the queen. While working at the Science Center, Dianne oversaw an $8,000 per year food budget and created training plans for new things. Husband Paul had now been licensed by the state as a 'rehabilitator' because of his extensive experience in the care and handling of wild animals.
Paul has rehabilitated and released a variety of birds and animals, including tawny owls, tawny owls and red-tailed owls. She says she always wanted to bring a big horned owl to class in high school. She learned, she says, that the great owl, the owl, doesn't have the wisdom attributed to it in literature and mythology, but they're still smart enough to make do with what they have.

Here's how you can participate: Use order forms in the new Supply Service catalog or from the free sample kit available upon request. Then, have a committee work on the project and decide whether or not your chapter should contact a corporate sponsor to pay for the calendars that the chapter can distribute to promote both the company and the FFA. Or should the FFA buy their own calendars and thank the community.
For those who want calendars or chapters and only want to try out a small number (without their chapter name printed on them), please use the forms below.
