In the early morning and late afternoon hours that flank the school day, Brian maintains snails and equipment, feeds, vaccinates, tags, drives the fields and quiets. 34;We re-feed about 400 cattle twice a day," Brian says, nodding at cattle strolling in a maze of heavy board fences and metal gates that surround. 34;For corn harvest, a silage cutter pulls behind a tractor and cuts stalks about six. centimeters from the ground.
Although Brian spends much of his time on the farm, he has managed to remain very active in the South Panola FFA. 34;Professional farming,” says Brian, “has taught me a lot about soils, herbicides, pesticides and animal sciences that I can use on our farm.” The South Panola standout has participated in the Land, Meat and Livestock Assessment Teams and the Parliamentary Procedure Team.
