This research aims to know the most dominant form of external code mixing, to investigate the causes of external code mixing, and to provide a solution to minimize external code mixing on Instagram post posts. Therefore, it is hoped that this research is beneficial in illustrating the phenomenon of external code-mixing on Instagram writing. Observation was conducted to know the most dominant form of external code mixing on Instagram writing posts.

Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat bermanfaat dalam mendeskripsikan fenomena campur kode eksternal dalam postingan Instagram yang diposting oleh mahasiswa S2 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris.

Analysis of data is an essential part of the research study, because the result will be a conclusion from the entire research. In this case, the researcher collects the data by documenting the writing of English education students on Instagram. Data condensation is the process of selecting, focusing, simplifying, abstracting and transforming data from interview transcripts, documents and other materials.
In this case, the researcher provided data related to the use of code mixing in online written discourse, particularly on Instagram, with reference to the research questions. It is the last step of data processing that shows the core of the research. After receiving the research results, the researcher clearly concluded them by answering the research questions.
Research Approach
Description of research result refers to the research question, including whether What is the most dominant form of external code mixing on Instagram writing, as the students from the English Education Department in the seventh semester at IAIN Metro; RA uses code mixing and more dominantly using Indonesian language than English on Instagram.
