The receiving information was displayed as instances of the error made by the students:. Based on the result of the research, the researcher found four types of errors made by students when using simple past tense and personal pronoun when writing recount texts based on superficial strategy taxonomy: omission, addition, wrong formation and wrong order. .

Brown argued that an error is a noticeable departure from a native speaker's mature grammar, reflecting the learner's competence3. The errors are part of the learner's interlingualism, the language version the learner has at each stage of development, which is constantly reformed as he or she strives to become fully proficient.

Clear sentences are not vague or indirect; they get the point across to the reader by using specific, concise language. Unity in a paragraph means that all the sentences are related to the topic sentence and its controlling idea. Good writers stay on topic by making sure that each supporting sentence relates to the topic sentence.

A piece of writing is coherent when all the ideas are organized and flow smoothly and logically from one to the next. Furthermore, this research is limited to the types of writing only narrative text taught in SMA TMI ROUDLOTL QUR‟AN METRO.

In this part of counting, students must focus on providing detailed information about who, what, where, and when. Based on the above explanation, this research aims to analyze the grammatical error in writing the simple past tense among the first graders of SMA TMI Roudlatul Qur'an in the academic year 2020/2021. The data from this study were any errors found in the writing of the recount text by the students.

The analysis in this research is about grammatical errors found in the students' writing in narrative text. From the data collection, the writer analyzed the students' mistake in the use of past tense in the composition of narrative text. The amount of Senior High School of TMI Roudlotul Qur’an Metro students in the academic year of 2020/2021.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Data Resource

In qualitative research, there are two sources that can be used to obtain data. This means that the primary source is important data related to problems in the research. The data source was the writing product of X IPS of SMA TMI Roudlotul Qur‟an or so-called documentation.

Data Collecting Technique

Sugiono says there were four types of data collection techniques:22 Observation, Interview, Documentation and Triangulation. Documents can be in the form of a person's writings, drawings or monumental works, written documents such as diaries, life histories, biographies, regulations and policies, documents in the form of images, for example photographs, live photographs, sketches and others, and documents in the form of works such as works of art, which can be in the form of figures, sculptures, films, etc. Read students' writing two to three times to find grammatical errors in their writing.

Any grammatical error that occurs is noted in the table according to its classification.

A brief history on the establishment of TMI Roudlatul Qur'an Metro Higher Secondary School. TMI Roundlatul Qur'an Metro Higher Secondary School is located in Mulyojati Village, Metro City District established in 2005 by father Drs.KH.Ali Qomarudin, MM. He is currently the senior manager of TMI Roudlatul Qur'an Metro, accredited by the Decree (SK) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Lampung Province Number: 11/KPTS/04D, November 2008, and rank “‟B”‟ with statistical number.

Senior High School of TMI Roudlatul Qur'an located in geographical area with Lowland Category. Senior High School of TMI Roudlatul Qur‟an Metro is stranded due to the location of the school located in an area that is easily accessible and found as it is close to the highway. In addition, it is close to the highway. In collecting the data, the writer asked the first class student (X IPS) of SMA TMI Roudlotul Qur'an Metro to write the narration text. After examining the results of the students' writing task, it was found that the students made four types of errors in the use of past tense and personal pronouns when composing a narrative text based on the surface strategy taxonomy: omission, addition, incorrect formation, and incorrect ordering. The total number of addition errors made by the students was 19 (see Appendix 9). Takeover information was shown as examples of errors made by students.

RESULT OF THE RESEARCH AND DISCUSSION

Brief History about the Establishment of Senior High School of

Discussion of Finding

Based on the research findings, the researcher would give some suggestions as cited below. Regularly practice students to express their idea through recount text as one of the alternatives, to teach them to express their idea using English. Siswa membuat teks retelling sederhana tentang keteladanan dengan memperhatikan fungsi sosial, struktur dan unsur kebahasaan. Mendemonstrasikan perilaku peduli, percaya, tanggung jawab dalam melaksanakan komunikasi terkait teks retelling dan personal pronoun sederhana tentang pengalaman/peristiwa/kejadian. Siswa membaca untuk memahami berbagai informasi, arti pesan singkat dan pengumuman/pesan, sangat singkat dan sederhana, dengan lafal dan intonasi yang baik.

Siswa membaca contoh pesan dan pemberitahuan/pengumuman yang sangat singkat dan sederhana dari berbagai sumber lain. Siswa menyampaikan pesan singkat dan pengumuman/pengumuman dengan sangat singkat dan sederhana serta menggunakan bahasa Inggris dalam kegiatan terstruktur lainnya. Siswa menyimpulkan hasil analisisnya mengenai fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan dari teks pesan singkat dan pemberitahuan/pengumuman, sangat pendek dan sederhana.
