Congratulations!

A Wedding!

Graduate student Sunyong Tang of Matt Grow’s lab married Min Zhang on Friday, January 28th at City Hall. Min Zhang is a gradu- ate student working towards her Ph.D. in the Department of Cellular & Integrative Physiology.

Congratulations to grad student Donghui Zhou and his wife Minghua Zhong on the birth of their twin daughters, Jia Ming and Jia Yi. They were born on Tues- day, February 1, 2005. Everyone is doing well.

New Awards

The Cancer Biology Training Program received an NCI T32 Research Training Grant for 2005-09. The first year will fund two pre-docs and three post-docs, while the number of post-docs will increase to six for remaining years of funding.

Dr. Ann Roman is the PI and twenty-seven basic science and clinical faculty serve as precep- tors.

Congrats to Sonal Sanghani on joining the IU Cancer Center as an associate member of the Experimental and Developmen- tal Therapeutics Program and the developing Gastrointestinal Cancer Program.

Congratulations to Merv Yoder for his new NIH-NHLBI award for the project, “Endothe- lial Cell Role in Yolk Sac Stem Cell Development”.

Congratulations to Yong Luo (grad student in Maureen Harrington’s lab) and Xiaohui (Christine) Zhang on the birth of their son, Andrew. Little Andrew was born on Feb 1, 2005. He weighed 7 pounds, 6.7oz and his height is 20.5 inches. Both mom and baby are doing well.
