LITERATURE REVIEW

Students’ Attitude

The students' attitude is very dependent on the teacher as a leader in the teaching and learning process. The learning attitude is not only the attitude towards the teacher, but also towards the goals to be achieved, the subject, tasks, etc. The cognitive component of attitude is how we perceive objects, events or situations, beliefs or ideas about things. .

It consists of the feelings or emotions evoked in an individual by objects, events, or their symbolic representations, such as sympathy, compassion, suffering, and love. A need is something missing from an existing set of conditions that needs to be made or reworked. A person who needs something will go out of his way to do whatever he can to help him find what he needs.

Morgan in Maya (2015:7) states that the researcher needs a way to measure to describe attitude and learning. From the above explanation, we can conclude that student attitude is the behavior of students in class participation. It can be classified as accepting or rejecting lecturers, friends and the learning material itself.

Listening Skill

Listening comprehension is a process of listening attentively to spoken symbols, understanding, appreciating and interpreting to obtain information, capture the content or message and understand the meaning of the communication conveyed by the speaker through speech or spoken language (Tarigan G 1985, p. 19). Listening skills are activities performed by a person for the purpose of hearing the sound of the language and understanding the content conveyed by the sound (Haryadi & Zamzani 1996, p.21). Tarigan (1990) states that the factors that influence listening skills are: .. 2) Psychological factor 3) Gender factor 4) Environmental fact.

From the explanation above, it can be concluded that listening skills are the competence to receive and interpret messages in the communication process. Thus, listening skills help to avoid misunderstandings or messages that do not match the facts. In short, listening skill refers to the first skill a student must master in learning studies before students learn to write, speak or read, because if students have listened well and understood the instructions that have been conveyed, the student can proceed to the next skill or next skill instruction.

Motivation Motivation is very important for any student when he attends a listening course, because if the student is low in motivation to master listening skills, the message he will convey will be difficult to convey optimally, therefore motivation affects the ability to listen. Attention If the student is not paying enough attention or is not focused while listening to the lesson, the message the student is listening to would not be well captured, so attention affects the ability to listen. 4. Repetition The more often a student repeats a sound or a sound in a listening material, the message he hears will be easier to commit to memory, so repetition affects listening ability.

Online Learning During the Pandemic Covid-19

Through online learning, students can collect information and learning material according to the syllabus set by the lecturer. Online learning makes students have unlimited information because they can access information from various sources in accordance with the learning material. Activities that students can do in online learning can be in the form of online conversations with experts in their fields, it can also be through email or chat.

Students can interact with learning resources whenever they have time and wherever they are because the learning resources are packaged electronically and available for student access through online learning. Online learning is flexible in time and place, making the number of student online learning activities unlimited and widely open to anyone who needs them. The facilities available in online learning and technology, a variety of software that continues to evolve, help facilitate the development of electronic learning materials.

From the above explanation, it can be concluded that online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is an online learning system that was developed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning activities are conducted several times a month not through face-to-face meetings, but through online learning and other forms of learning. Some challenges arise because online learning experiences some obstacles, including language learning activities in EFL classrooms (Rini S 2020, p.1).
